We were as a group after a token gesture of money off not the earth as everybody seems to think.
I garauntee you will remember my comments when you are setting up your stalls for any future meets and will with any luck but i doubt it adjust your pricing.

This i think has now gone far enough, however every trader on here knows that what is being said is true, all he is asking you to do is to review this at any future events, its amazing what an effect positive critcism has, come on play nicely and all you dealers stop throwing your toys out of your communal prams .

Hi Mike
Went to BurgerKing today and asked what discount I would get if I ordered 4 meals all the same. Ha ha it worked I paid for 3 and got the 4th free. A saving of 3.99. Looked around all the stands but never even looked at the prices but then I never do.

At last bought my clear indicators, £60, so saved about a tenner buying them at the show.

It was good because you could see them before you bought, something you don't get through the internet.

Now what am I going to moan about now?

Isn't the point whether the price is right in the first place rather than whether you get a discount??? People can show a sticker price 10% higher and then "offer" a 10% discount, and it would give Zippy & co a nice warm feeling, OR they can offer the kit at the most competitive price in the first place.

Two points: if the prices quoted on the net/in the shop or wherever are too expensive in the first place then someone will offer it cheaper and force prices come down - or at least give everyone a choice, secondly you don't get something for nothing in this world - if Zippy gets his discount at the stall then the person who pays at the shop is subsidising him. Personally I reckon if a dealer gives up his weekend to show his products and we get the opportunity to compare his kit with someone elses all in the same place (saving sad people like me saving me days of leg work), those guys get my sincere thanks.

Zippy - I don't understand why you want just a token discount. If it's not a meaningful amount of discount and you want the kit, then why not just buy it there and then and save all the hassle of wasting time on the net/phone?

As i didnt attend i can't comment on the stands etc though i do know Mike and Pete etc.

I may have missed it as ive glanced through this thread, but did anyone who actually wanted to buy something that was not for sale at a 'discounted' price for example 3 sti pedal sets actually ask the sellers what price for three, or knock something off for buying several? Or is the argument purely because the items were not priced up cheaper?

Personally i'm a great believer in if you want something, ask.
If you get what you want great, if not lick your wounds, keep an eye on the for sale section for cheaper second hand alternatives, or better still be proactive, call a load of suppliers and haggle the best deal you can.

The current direction of the thread does not seem to be a healthy one and i don't think is likely to end on a particularly high note.

If i were a seller reading this i'd be wondering why i bother and liewise from a punters point of view would be questioning whether its worth attending future events, neither of which being very helpful for the scene.

Have looked in the Northern thread - saw 2 posts saying the stands were poor, but no mention about pricing.

Except when you've asked people to back you up

LMFAO, that's a bit rich.

You're the one who's come on here like a spoilt little brat whining that you couldn't get your way with the traders - aaah, what a shame.

I don't 4ss kiss anyone - I'm not afraid of saying what I think though.

Please post the pics up - doesn't bother me if people know who i am or what I look like - wow, they even know my name - I don't have to hide behind the moniker of a camp childrens puppet.

LMFAO.

All the people who meet up at any northern meet know you as the chief a@se kisser to the BBS users who happen to be dealers.
At least some of the traders involved had the decency to reply to my original thread and for them to have their say and add some value to the discussion only for you to then pipe up afterwards'oh yes i totally agree 'now if that not smooching i dont no what is.

This is getting boring now, i have had my say and i've voiced my opinion if you dont like what i've said thats up to you.
BUT i bet we get a better set-up next year and they will seriously look at doing some deals at the trade stands.

Too true...too true.....

But ya see....I'm all brawn and no brain

I hit first talk later

Story of my life unfortunately, I remember in the scrubbs having not had a woman for 2yrs sqabbling over a bit of young fresh that had just come in....ended up getting another 30 days, and that's real a*se beating matey.....

Unlike most I'm a manual sort of chappie and pride myself in having been self taught in using a computer, it makes a change from the usual stuff I play with !

Anyway, if you reply one more time in this thread your'e admitting that your a big mouthed, ac-**** managing, bloated Northern gay boy
