snowcrash,
I've got an approximate edit of my footage now, but there are all sorts of technical nasties - raindrops on the lens filter are noticeable, sound isn't up to much despite three mics, and of course I drove like an old woman.
There's a clip of about 80 seconds which I've selected as being about the least embarrassing thing I can show. In uncompressed AVI it's over 350Mb, in MPEG-1 about 60Mb with my default settings. I only have an ISDN connection and I haven't yet found an unmetered ISP that supports multilink PPP over ISDN, so it's going to take me the best part of two hours to upload even the MPEG. I'll let you know when it's there.
Meanwhile, there is another clip I could do also - I haven't yet captured it, but my wife's comments on stepping out of the MG Xpower are good for a laugh - should I post them also?

snowcrash,
The URL is http://www.beautifulbaboon.com/softwizz_cc.mpg (60Mb)
What conection speed do you have? If its a pain to download I'll burn a CDR as you suggest - in which case I guess you'd prefer the original 300+Mb AVI?
I'll post the MG Xtreme clip later this evening.

The URL for the MG Xtreme clip is http://www.beautifulbaboon.com/mg_xtreme.mpg (18Mb)
It's about a minute long, I compressed it somewhat more than I usually do, and it came out not noticeably worse for it - I think I have a lot to learn about using compression in A-V!
Please post when you have a copy - I have to delete it ASAP because I'm getting 'allocation exceeded' messages from my ISP.

snowcrash,
I just realised I have some footage of the 'tarmac special stage' demonstration runs by a few of the cars (but unfortunately not the excellent run by Alistair McRae) - I could knock it together and post it later tonight if you want. I don't know whether you wanted to keep the footage restricted to activities by members, or if the wider rallying scene was also of interest.

In fairness what I've seen so far it's great..... Fair play to Simon and the camera people. Shame some of the sound track was in mushy mono, bet hey this isn't a professional production.
I would charge for it mate, is worth it mate....

i'll have a play with the audio during the week, still need to decide on soundtrack, and i'm going to dump about 15-20mins of footage onto the floor...
I've also got to put the credits on..
so peeps add your names and what you done below:
1) snowcrash - DBM MY99 - Driver, Cameraman, Editor, Producer, Sound Editor, Music Arrangement.
2) predator - cameraman
3) jharris - driver

snowcrash, the rest of my footage is at http://www.beautifulbaboon.com/cc.mpg (69Mb) - let me know when its OK to delete it.
Its about four minutes, compressed same as the MG Xtreme stuff. Sorry for the very annoying interruptions to the view, I was in an area of high spectator mobility and it took some time to get close to the railings. I guess if you lap-dissolve from when a run gets obscured, into the next run, it won't be too bad - you'll probably get a minute of decent footage out of it.

sorry i haven't got back to you sooner Snowcrash - have now discovered that we don't have the leads to be able to download off the video camera (it's borrowed) also, as it's one of my first attempts, there's a quite a bit of camera shake, so don't think it would be really worth using. Good bit of Ben in his black scoob though.
Cheers
