Crusher by Thick discs do you mean 335mm to fit standard 4 pots and if so what pads mintex M1144 or greenstuff. Cheers. Graham, don't worry about hijacking the thread, I do it frequently.

Marc,

Decision made

Count me in for a 335mm disk upgrade with 1144 pads.

Andrew...

This made my decision for me:

Is Ian just offering Mintex and Greenstuff or Pagid pads as well? I probably did know the answer to this but.... :-)

My friend bought his set this time last year for £450 all in for the 17" kit.
He then bought a set of discs for his Evo 4 months later which didn't fit properly and had to have the pads ground by 4mm!

Twice bitten never to return again and still waiting for a reply from them!

Question

Have you now got the 10 people required?

I would be interested in some discs and pads for my MY00 OEM four pots.

I don't know what I require though. I am shortly getting some 17's and I have 16's which I use for the track so I need to know what is my best option and how much? I also want to continue using the OEM calipers.

Is this group buy cheque only or can credit cards be used?

Damian.

I'm wondering how many have joined the buy too,as I have to get a new set up anyway if not enough people are interested I'll have to go ahead regardless...but if it's a case of waiting a few weeks then I'll hang on..Ian if you are looking at this thread, how much will the "thick 28mm" discs for standard my99 caliper/split with your spacer be in the group buy...and how much to fit it?

Sorry I havn't posted better updates but had very busy week. This is the information I have to date, please post if I have missed you or made any mistakes on details:
Andrew 335mm grooved 1144 pads
Jonathan Smith 335mm grooved 1144 pads
Rob P 335mm grooved greenstuff
Jon W 335mm no details on discs pads
Adrian 335mm no details on discs pads
Crusher Thicker standard discs

With mine that makes 7 kits which I think are definites.
Now to the questions that I can answer. Crusher the thicker discs are £425 including spacers, they will cost £395 in the group buy. For fitting Ian has said £75 including bleeding with Dot 5.1 fluid. Jon the pagid pads are not made big enough for the 335mm kit but are fine with the standard sized discs. X Scooby, if you have subaru 4 pots I would go for the 335mm kit which gives a big disc and keeps your 4 pots, you do need 17's for this size disc though. If you have 16's you could either go for a thicker disc or the godspeed 308mm kit with calipers. Damian only cheque payment I'm afraid. Hopefully I have answered all the questions, unfortunately I am new to this modifying car lark and am learning all the time. I will do my best to answer any question or conatct Ian who has been answering my emails very quickly to date (thanks by the way).

JUST 3 KITS LEFT THEN IF EVERYONE WHO CONFIRMED IS STILL DEFINITE.

Dolt, knew I'd miss something, Damian if you are going for 17's t he 335mm kit would fit nicely. No good for your 16's though. Other option is the thicker discs which would be good for track days, thicker discs are meant to stand up to the high temperatures you will get at track hammerings.

Steve, yhm, John no problems, 2 kits left so anyone interested who has not confirmed should do so soon. Once we have the 10 I will mail everyone to confirm 100% and everyone can send cheques and get brakes that stop. Cheers all.

Someone enquired on a price for braided hoses, in the group buy they will be £55 and dot 5.1 is £10/litre. Also Ian has someone who will post tonight so that will be 9. One kit left so anyone interested confirm very soon.

Question for Ian,
If I fit your standard or thicker discs for the 16inch standard scooby my99,can any of the big discs be retro fitted if I then get 17inch wheels at a later date or are the bells unique to each disc type.....

Ian, Just a thought. I dont suppose the standard spacesaver fits over the 335mm kit ? The alternative is to swap front to back if you have a front puncture to get home ?

Didn't really think so, its going to be fun swapping a punctured front tyre in the rain (isnt it always raining when you get a puncture )

Let me see rear off, space save on, front off, rear on front... mmmm might get a full size spare

Graham Beal - YHM.

Crusher - The bells for the 294mm discs and 335mm discs are different , the inside holes are different sizes , but if you are looking to upgrade at a later date then you would be better off selling the discs and bells you have now , you would get most of you money back rather than having a pair of discs sitting in the garage.

silversmith- You have more chance hitting the sun with a snowball than you have fitting the space saver over the 335mm kit!!!

Rich101 - The pagid pads are not available in the bigger pad we use for the 335mm kit , its either Mintex or Greenstuff , Braided hoses are £55 a set.

If you have anymore questions fire away , Cheers Ian

Ian,

I think silversmith said he would be fitting space saver to rear then removing the front puncture then replacing that with the rear wheel !!!!

caz , I saw that bit , that is the only downside of fitting the big kits is when you do have a puncture you have to fit the space saver on the back , I hope the new 325mm rear kits with the standard calipers I'm working on fit under them !!
