First Opinion of my new Sti
I endorse MTR's assessment: I had two old-shape 5-doors before switching, and I notice exactly the same things as he does. So, if you're serious about comparing, read what he says on Page 1. Now I've got used to the STiUK (3 Months) it's the low-down grunt that I miss, and Mike Wood's comment to me was that this is an area that PPP addresses: so I shall invest.....
It took me a long time to get used to the feel on cornering, which is very different: but driving STiUKs at one of the Prodrive days provided a risk-free injection of confidence. Apart from the 2500-4000 grunt, my only real crib is the sensitivity to flaws in the road surface. 18" wheels is the answer everyone says.... but it's another £1200 or so net
My Gearchange is OK (slightly balky until the oil's warm, but that's only the first 5 minutes or so), but I've got the dreaded NSR suspension rattle. Fuel consumption has settled around 22mpg.
And, yes, I prefer the WRX style front... but NOT with pink letters
Love it to bits - but would go old style over WRX for standard Turbos anyday.
