I think you have listed it wrong mate. I have a little nosey to see what the market is doing and yours hasn't come up in the searches once. Could be category or missing some key words. There are a few at £14k and over but they have been sat for months now.

It's listed as a 2.5 XT....but I don't think that "STi" is a model option, being a JDM. Plenty of other FSTi listed just as "Forrester"

If I search I just type in “subaru forester sti “ if it’s not under that then I won’t find it , as above maybe re list it with a different more correct title , for what it is , you are listing it way too low , 12 k plus is much more realistic , people just don’t find it under your title

Yes of you search STi on Autotrader, it's the first Forrester that appears. Listing the model as XT is a little misleading but it has STi in the description, so I don't think it's hard to find 8fbyiu are looking for an STi - as you can't select the model anyway.

Stick it on ebay , Just make it clear it’s for sale somewhere else , you can put your mobile in the description , personally I think it’s a better place to sell it rather than doing it on autotrader , on autrader which I rarely use , i searched Forster for 2004 to 2007 , the years or it’s production , I found it but at the end of the listings, and as above , shown as an xt rather than sti , put it up for what it is or it’s just looking like any other Forester which is why it’s probably not selling 👍 it’s a car that’s unusual and rare and packs a premium 👍😁

Couple of things.
It needs advertising as a Forester STI.
With the ad being listed as a 2.5 xt even though you, I and anyone on here know what it is, it might put some people off as they could be misconstrued into thinking it’s just an xt that has been made to resemble an STI.

Secondly, the mileage. You have it listed as 125,000mls but the description says it is actually 97k mileage adjusted.
This will put people off, you need to list it as 97,000mls and then explain in the description the 125k odometer reading is incorrect as it was in kilometres for a certain amount, rather than the other way round.

And lastly, the price. It should be ballpark. If it is a lot lower than anything else people might assume this is because there is something wrong with it. I’m sure I’m not alone but when I am looking for a car I quite often skip past ones that are at the bottom of the price range as they are often listed with this that and the other wrong with it. I know it’s a little different with this as there aren’t many up for sale, but these are just some of my thoughts that could be holding it back.

It says it was imported with 97k KM, which is 60k miles. So if it's still in KM then 125k KM is only 77k miles.

However.....it does have an MoT history going back to 2009, where it has 33k miles. It also has a service record from Powerstation with the first service in 2006 stating 1321 miles. And a warranty receipt from Litchfields in 2009 stating 33339 as the mileage. Which all suggests that it was imported by Litchfield from new in 2006 with minimal mileage. I'm not sure why it says it was imported with 60k in the ad. It seems unlikely (although not impossible) that it's never been converted to miles in 16 years of being in the UK...but presumably that would also mean that the speedo still reads in KM and I doubt Litchfields would have released a car without converting the speedo. So I'd suggest it's probably 125k miles and not KM.

I thought it is fair for prospective buyers to know the below.

He could have sold it to a friend if he had turned up as he promised last week. Or come over this week. He agreed to meet half way, the friend drove 2.5 hours each way and he did not come saying the mot run late.

He was asked if he could come another day and after promising he would, later he said it's too far. Cost the friend £100 for petrol to drive half way, and extra cost for a mechanic to be booked a Saturday to have a look at the car. Even the mechanic (well respected subaru specialist) said that maybe something is wrong with the car and that's why he does not want to keep his promise.

I can't say if that's the case or if the seller can't be bothered to keep his word but either is a red flag in my book. The friend even offered to pay for his petrol and train for the way back and leave that as a non refundable deposit so no excuse except if his time is more valuable than other people's or he cannot trust that the car would be as described. Either way not a nice way to treat an honest buyer in my honest opinion 😕

Hello everyone thanks for your input and help regarding my issue. I have been away working and put the car sale at the back of my mind for the time being. Firstly regarding the Auto trader listing, like all UK websites including tyre fitting shops euro car parts etc etc they all seem to not know what this car is and do not list a Forester STI, Auto trader also did not have a Forester STI option when I listed, the closest was a 2.5XT. Its a nightmare and part of owning a JDM import i suppose, but forget about adding the reg or even finding the car in the listings for tyre websites, car part websites etc it never shows the correct car for some reason, probably because this car was never sold on the UK car market.

While i have been away I have installed original forester STI struts all round as the coil overs were far to rough for my old age haha. I have also had a NSR calliper replaced and i will doing the discs all rounds in the next couple of days including four fresh tyres.

Due to the car being in perfect condition, driving so nicely and spending so much on the car in the last couple of years i will be deciding if its financially worth the sacrifice or keep my beloved hearse.

You guys will be the first to know and thank you everyone who has messaged me directly showing interest I'm sorry i haven't been on the ball when it comes to Scoobynet. Thanks again.
