I can’t see how a slow build up of fire power on your doorstep over a long time frame wouldn’t make you nervous 😬

@IdonthaveaScooby , if everything is a conspiracy and an excuse for the ones who control us to force their agenda, how would you handle the situation to prevent escalation and maintain peace?

You are aware of Russias military might aren't you?
There is no way in hell the US or any NATO country will be getting involved in this militarily unless Putin actually attacks a NATO country! Sure, NATO probably out-powers the Russian army, but not without massive losses to NATO forces and civilians and God help us if the big red button gets pressed! Sure, we'll do what we can to support Ukraine, but in the end NATO would rather let Putin take Ukraine than risk WW3 and Armageddon!
Any conspiracy about the west wanting this conflict is totally absurd! I'd accept arguments about wars in the middle east etc. but there is no benefit of a war with Russia on our own doorstep, the economic benefits for the defence industry are totally outweighed by the economic losses of a major war on European soil not to mention that most of Europe is dependent on Russian gas and oil!

Almost certainly faked by the Russians, given that their hero was on TV just yesterday telling the Ukrainian army to "rise up against their oppressive rulers" *. What else could any sane person expect, other than for convenient footage to magically appear online within a day, confirming that there are actual living, breathing (and most importantly, never-before-lobotomized) people who are readily going along with what he said?

* Of course, the usual conspiracy-merchants, Trump apologists, and other assorted wingnuts such as yourself and Idonthaveascooby will more than likely prefer to believe that the footage is in fact entirely authentic, and of course that every word that comes out of Putin's mouth is not only true, but is delivered with breath that smells like purest ambrosia mixed with wild almonds, roses and honey, and instantly cures Covid and all other ailments of anyone lucky enough to catch a slight whiff of it

I think its pretty undeniable that areas of the country contain people who are more loyal to Putin/ Russia than Russia itself
Kiev is much older than Moscow

false flag events are orchestrated on both sides ,at the behest of the people who stand to profit from wars - not the people up on your screens

You're obviously just trolling now, not a single mention of WMD anywhere on the homepage of BBC news or their live-feed of events from Ukraine.

I hope the Russian public rise up against the regime - bring it down from the inside. I think the military will back them up eventually
It seems wrong as well the Ukrainian authorities handing out weapons to civilians - i know why they are doing it, but it changes things from being it just a military conflict.

I agree with both points but should you stop civilians in fighting for thier freedom?
Civilians in the Ukraine have a long history of starvation ect in regards to Russia, so much so they welcomed the germans in ww2 and even worked for them.

What really boils my p!ss is the West going we never saw this coming. WTF did they think taking Crimea was about in 2014?. They stood back and did **** all as usual with p!ss poor economic sanctions that the loon in the Kremlin doesn't give a flying **** about. That just gave the green light to him to do as he pleases whenever he feels like it. No amount of economic sanctions are going to affect him he just does not care about those.

As for his threat to Nuke the West if they intervene just shows how scared he is of their military intervention and that's why he made the threat as it's the only thing that could stop him. NATO would wipe out the russian military in Ukraine and he would fail. But over 13,000 nuclear warheads between the USA and Russia = mutual assured destruction and that was his trump card to stop military intervention. Even the USA think he is crazy enough to do it if pushed.

If anyone on here seriously believe the russian people can revolt against him you are living in cloud cuckoo land. He is happy to kill his own people if they stand up against him and no numbers are too many as far as he is concerned. He changed the law so he could never be replaced as president and he won't care what the russian public think of him. He makes North Korea look like amateurs at dictatorship and threatening the west.

I dread to think what is coming to Kyiv tonight. The lack of progress today only means one thing and that is large scale reinforcements and an all out mass assault on the city tonight. The loss of life will be sickening and Zelensky will be murdered by russian troops.

The day that c**t in the Kremlin dies I will be celebrating. I really hope someone gets to him sooner rather than later as the hatred of him across the World is growing day by day. Even the Argies were kicking off about him.

My wife has a degree in Russian and has both worked and lived in Russia; she has never had any doubts that Putin would do whatever he wants to achieve his legacy of restoring the borders and pride of the USSR. He will stop at nothing.

You are posting from a device that allows you to fact check the things you are making up as you go along, yet you still don't bother. No wonder the populace in the UK is so easily led on and stolen from by wealthy populists and their cronies- it's never been easier to inform yourself on a topic but the main thing people use the internet for is to just weigh in with totally uninformed opinions instead.

There have been multiple conflicts in Chechnya and Russia invaded Georgia (another sovereign nation) in 2008.
List of wars involving Russia - Wikipedia

Will you admit that you totally made that up?

It seems from this you are trying to imply some kind of equivalency between the Wests attempts at regime change vs what Putin is doing?

Putin has now escalated the threat of nuclear war with his defence ministry. He has lost the plot and the World needs to get rid of him before its too late. He is an utter nut job.

Taken from the pistonheads thread:

https://www.reddit.com/live/18hnzysb1elcs

Interesting conversation on the pistonheads thread on the state of the russian economy by those with trader/market knowledge. I really hope it plays out how they predict. I did lol at the comparison of the ruble against the dollar is now less than that of roblox currency and still falling

Will Putin's own cronies in the Kremin put up with him taking Russia back into the dark ages? Even they must be raising an eyebrow at his nuke threat and thinking he has finally lost the plot

The 3.5 km long military convoy heading towards Kyiv tonight looks to be the mass reinforcements i was concerned about happening last night. I really hope the Wests restocking of Ukraine's weaponry has been on overdrive over the weekend (incluidng more migs from their previous eastern bloc neighbours) as they are going to need it from the satellite images showing how much Russian hardware is heading towards Kyiv.

Edit: if the latest news about EU supplied fighter jets in the air within the hour is true then that is a major step up by the EU and direct support to Ukraine to fend off that military convoy heading to Kyiv. Putins head will explode with rage - here's hoping!
