You can't load pictures as attachments in PM's unless you host them somewhere else and include a link.
All I need for now is the VIN

According to that you've the wrong gearbox in there. It should be ok all the same.
JDM Impreza WRX STi RA Ver.II MY96
(also STi RA 555 & RA V-Limited Ver.II MY96) TY752VB4CA 3.454 2.333 1.750 1.354 0.972
3.416 1.000 3.900 DCCD (35:65)
JDM Impreza WRX RA MY95 TY752VB3EA 3.454 2.333 1.750 1.354 0.972
3.416 1.000 3.900 Viscous (4kgf) Open
Now i've just found out looking at this that that particular box came with the same number with and without DCCD.

Your "car" was built in November 1995 (9511) as a production line WRXRASTI with a DCCD TY752VB4CA box (as shown on the VIN plate).
Thus the 6 pin plug between bulkhead and gearbox looms.
The gearbox you have is from an early Revision C (1994/5) WRXRA that was taken off the production line and converted to STI spec and the DCCD added including all the wiring and instrumentation necessary to run it in the cabin.
It is therefore logical that the wiring on the gearbox consists of the WRXRA 4 pin plug loom (24031AA080) to the neutral and reverse switches plus the addon 2 pin plug for the DCCD connection.
If you can obtain the correct gearbox loom for your car (24031AA370) you should be able to connect the additional pair of DCCD wires to the box DCCD, although you may need to use a different waterproof plug/socket arrangement (or hard wire) to
that fitted as it looks different to the later OEM DCCD plug shown below.
Notice the "versionII" on the B4CA box info below

Whether you can get a 2nd hand loom or not, they appear to still be available new.....

Brilliant guys thanks for all the info. I'm thinking if I identify the wires at the engine loom end where they go into a 6 pin plug I can just make my own connections for the dccd box? I mean after all it's only 2 wires?! Here's a few picks from.last night before my battery died....

Here are the wiring diagrams relating to the reverse/backup switch and the neutral position switch from an early UK G10 impreza turbo
Colours are for the bulkhead loom side of the 6 pin connector and may or not match the JDM version wiring
Backup switch wire colours Black/Yellow and Brown/Yellow
Neutral position switch Black/Red and Lightgreen/Yellow
Looks like pins 1 (red/white) and 4 (Green) are for the DCCD

Ah great, well at least we got to the bottom of the problem! So I'm going to try an order that loom...I'm hoping that is the same as the one mentioned earlier in conversation. Not quite sure why the loom would be wrong in the first place....maybe at some point it had a plug in adaptor??? But thanks again for your help.

You didn't mention this before but looking at the 2 gearbox plugs i'd say they've not been connected to anything in a long long time.
