Fairly certain I've located dccd ecu under drivers side dashboard too. I thought I remember these being under one of the front seats when I used to break them years ago?

Usually in the centre console. From the back of the box forward to the first plug you come to.

Can you not empty your inbox, and surely that shouldn't matter to upload photos.

You can't load pictures as attachments in PM's unless you host them somewhere else and include a link.
All I need for now is the VIN

According to that you've the wrong gearbox in there. It should be ok all the same.

JDM Impreza WRX STi RA Ver.II MY96
(also STi RA 555 & RA V-Limited Ver.II MY96) TY752VB4CA 3.454 2.333 1.750 1.354 0.972
3.416 1.000 3.900 DCCD (35:65)

JDM Impreza WRX RA MY95 TY752VB3EA 3.454 2.333 1.750 1.354 0.972
3.416 1.000 3.900 Viscous (4kgf) Open

Now i've just found out looking at this that that particular box came with the same number with and without DCCD.

Here's one for Don to get his head round.

JDM Impreza WRX RA MY95 TY752VB3EA 3.454 2.333 1.750 1.354 0.972
3.416 1.000 3.900 Viscous (4kgf) Open

JDM Impreza WRX STi RA MY95 TY752VB3EA 3.454 2.333 1.750 1.354 0.972
3.416 1.000 3.900 DCCD (35:65) Open DCCD fitted off production line

Your "car" was built in November 1995 (9511) as a production line WRXRASTI with a DCCD TY752VB4CA box (as shown on the VIN plate).
Thus the 6 pin plug between bulkhead and gearbox looms.

The gearbox you have is from an early Revision C (1994/5) WRXRA that was taken off the production line and converted to STI spec and the DCCD added including all the wiring and instrumentation necessary to run it in the cabin.

It is therefore logical that the wiring on the gearbox consists of the WRXRA 4 pin plug loom (24031AA080) to the neutral and reverse switches plus the addon 2 pin plug for the DCCD connection.

If you can obtain the correct gearbox loom for your car (24031AA370) you should be able to connect the additional pair of DCCD wires to the box DCCD, although you may need to use a different waterproof plug/socket arrangement (or hard wire) to
that fitted as it looks different to the later OEM DCCD plug shown below.

Notice the "versionII" on the B4CA box info below

His 4 pin gearbox plug is not going to fit into his bulkhead loom he needs the full later dccd loom or as you say hard wire the whole lot.

I tend to disbelieve anything JDM that quotes a model year (MY) rather than Revision character as JDM builds can cover more than one year as in this case the G10 Impreza Revision "C" ran from 1994/06 to 1996/08 (the early part being MY95 and from 1995/10 MY96)

Whether you can get a 2nd hand loom or not, they appear to still be available new.....

Brilliant guys thanks for all the info. I'm thinking if I identify the wires at the engine loom end where they go into a 6 pin plug I can just make my own connections for the dccd box? I mean after all it's only 2 wires?! Here's a few picks from.last night before my battery died....

Here are the wiring diagrams relating to the reverse/backup switch and the neutral position switch from an early UK G10 impreza turbo
Colours are for the bulkhead loom side of the 6 pin connector and may or not match the JDM version wiring
Backup switch wire colours Black/Yellow and Brown/Yellow

Neutral position switch Black/Red and Lightgreen/Yellow

Looks like pins 1 (red/white) and 4 (Green) are for the DCCD

For the life of me I can't see how many wires go into your gearbox loom.
1. How many wires go into the plug on the gearbox loom.
2. Does/will the gearbox loom/plug plug into the bulkhead loom. If it does be careful that the wires are compatible with the other plug.

The original WRXRA gearbox loom has a 4 pin plug

A bit of good fortune while looking for a fifth gear came across a bag of looms and guess what one of each. I suspect you need the one on the right but have the four pin one on the left.
Whereas the one on the right is six pin

Ah great, well at least we got to the bottom of the problem! So I'm going to try an order that loom...I'm hoping that is the same as the one mentioned earlier in conversation. Not quite sure why the loom would be wrong in the first place....maybe at some point it had a plug in adaptor??? But thanks again for your help.

As in the gearbox is already fitted to the car and I'm assuming the car was up and running before it was stripped for paint. So not sure how they had the gearbox connected up if it was the case that the car was running this gearbox before strip down.

You didn't mention this before but looking at the 2 gearbox plugs i'd say they've not been connected to anything in a long long time.
