I had STI ST08092ST010 or SUBARU 809218430 for Alternator/PS belt not 809218450
Seem to have got the Pump right!
I had 11718AA081 for the AC Belt not 11718AA082

 

AC belt kit *081 to *082 is a supercede ie a newer version of the same for whatever reason (different maker, revised part etc...)
809218430 and 809218450 appear to be the same size ie 5PK882 but different make.........

 

@SuperCat worth putting your vin number into partsouq.com and it will identify it as a 20th anni with all correct part numbers listed for it.

I have one linked just for cross reference when looking parts also

Appreciate the help all. Was away with work this week but managed to get registration papers sent off before I went so it's a waiting game now.

Car is in garage and would love to share pics - but they will have to come with a warning. It is a bit "ASBO" at the moment as it has a Varis carbon fibre bonnet and Launsport carbon fibre double rear spoiler! Not to mention some decals! May take some time to get right but will need to get advise on painting or wrapping the rear wing and even the bonnet. No idea how that will work on carbon fibre. It does seem to have a STi bodykit to keep some sort of authenticity.

I see from the information above that ST20106ZR000 support kit comes as standard anyone know if the other STi bits are standard?

I dont think ST20118ZR000 FLEXIBLE DRAW STIFFENER KIT F was original, 20th used a different lower kit.
Everything else appears standard for a 20th, but Don or Fpan probably know better.

 

Yeah lower arm bar was standard not the flexible draw stiffeners, it’s basically one or the other and the flexible draw stiffeners came later.

It's been a while since I owned a scooby, my last being a Spec D. I've always had the itch to get back in to one but between house moves, kids and work, I've not had the chance.

I've now finally taken the plunge and found a 20th Anni at Torque GT. I'll be having it collected in the next few weeks and it looks an absolute beauty. As far as I can tell it was once owned by a member here called fpan who I can see has posted this thread. If you're still here - it looks like you really took care of this car!

The plan is to use and enjoy it for a few years. I'll post some pictures when it's made it's way up to me

Hello and thanks for the kind words! I owned this car for 4 and a half years and spent quite some money in it on preventative maintenance and trying to make it mint as you can see from the service history but only did 12k km in total; I was too worried to use it as a daily but the car is well protected and will be a great daily driver, it's to be enjoyed after all! I am glad it's in the hands of another Subaru enthusiast! It would be good to meet up for a chat and to take some photos together with my current car (Forester STi), if you fancy. I am in West Midlands.

 

Double post, lol at hedgecutter, the paint thickness is fine although there are a couple of areas that are close to 90μm from memory so avoid heavy polishing there but the paint was in fantastic condition when I sold it just over a year ago.

The plan is to daily it, although I already feel guilty! There's a specialist up in Edinburgh called S W Motorsports (Steve I think) who I plan to use predominantly for anything it needs but would welcome any recommendations.

I've actually arranged to pick it up on 28th March and will be staying over in W. Mids on my way back up to Scotland (I'm originally from the area). I'm planning on heading to Caffeine and Machine The Hill with a few friends on 29th to give it it's inaugural trip and it would be great to meet you and chat about the car and see your Forrester. If that doesn't work, I'm down a few times a year and would be happy to meet up for a chat and some photos whenever suits! If anyone else wanted to join, it would be great to see some more Scoobies on the day!

 

I'd be coating every nook and cranny of the underside if you're planning on dailying through a Scottish winter. I have quite a few of the Sti extras which are standard on a 20th, and they rust for fun. They're also expensive, if you're planning on keeping it original. The rear subframe, arches, and bumper are particularly bad dirt traps ( see the fuel filler neck on my yellow spec C thread for example)
From my own experience, these cars need to be garaged, at bare minimum.

 

I went down a rabbit hole last night about the engines. I wanted a 2.0 JDM as I thought they were inherently stronger than the 2.5. This seems to have been somewhat misguided but I can't tell whether the 2.0 suffers the same failure rate as the 2.5. I'm not someone who mods cars or drives particularly erratically and will be doing 6k oil changes but this is going to nag in the back of my head. Going to talk to a few engine builders today.

Looks like the car has been under sealed already but I'll be washing regularly throughout, ACF50 all exposed components and will be getting it checked before next winter and sealed again if needed

Many congratulations! That fpan car is amazing, so well looked after and saves the costs I am about to incur on mine! I also picked mine up after completing a house move. Now have 4 cars in the house and a driveway that can accommodate 2 cars! Will be selling my JDM Colt Turbo very soon.


Another amazing car here! I have been reading your thread and it has given me a reality check on how expensive ownership could turn out to be.

I am about to part with some money and trying to spend in the right places. Your point about "preventative maintenance" really resonates with me as I have little visibility into past maintenance history of my vehicle. Not to say it wasn't well looked after: I know it was a 1 owner car until 2021 then 2nd owner took over till I purchased. Just wondering if I have missed any "preventative maintenance"? I am planning the following:

• All Belt Changes with pulleys/idlers/water pump
• Replace all hoses
• All fluids change
• Replace leaking P/S pump
• Replace all bushes/links with GroupN STi ones
• Replace Tein Mono Sport coilovers and EDFC Active Pro with Sti Bilstein yellows and pink springs

Could you send me some info on the JDM Colt you are planning to sell?
I will be in the market for a cheap daily in a few months and your car could potentially tick the boxes.
The OEM water pump has metal blades and doesn't necessarily need changing, if you change it make sure you change it with an OEM one with metal propellers as well.

 

@fpan that's interesting re the water pump as I've asked for cambelt and water pump to be changed before collection which TGT are doing. I wonder whether I should ask them not to do water pump then? I've a lot to learn about these cars!

@hedgecutter I've had a look through your thread - beautiful car mate. Looks like you spent a good amount of time pulling it apart to clean/treat where needed. I'll get it properly checked when I've collected and make sure things are done, as it will be my daily and, although I have a garage, it has my motorbike and other crap in it. Any tips would be greatly welcomed!

Got my registration papers for the 20th through this week so feeling good. Almost brave enough to share some initial pictures but will reiterate the same warnings.

WARNINGS:

• I dont have many pics as the car is just not ready to advertise in this way
• Car is garaged whilst I await a service slot
• Car is a bit ASBO so will need work toning down
• The recurring theme from those who have seen it revolve around "Fast & Furious" which I have not seen.

Looking at garage yamago on Facebook it looks very much in the style of one of their cars. I'd be inclined, if you haven't already done so, to drop them a message and see can they give you any more detail on. There looks to be some decent kit on it.

My 20th Anniversary will be up for sale at some point, its in the not so easy to find WR Blue, it only has 64k UK miles on the clock, the bonus witrh my car is the engine has been rebuilt by Mark at TDR (Thwaites Development Racing) to OEM Spec to keep its full originality, it needed a rebuild due to the incompetence of a previous garage which the previous owner used to change the water pump and timing belt. Anyway my expense is the next owners gain as the Subaru engines will more than likely need some kind of engine work at some point, this has all been taken care of, the car drives like a million dollars, it's literally like driving a brand new car and the condition is excellent, whoever may show some interest would be more than made up witrh the car, it never gets driven in the wet during my ownership. In the meantime when the weather gets better where its more solid and stable im going to enjoy the car and go for a few drives.

I've not fully decided yet, around a year ago when the prices were stronger i could have got £22k for it esp with the low miles and with the engine having been rebuilt to OEM spec it gives any new buyer great peace of mind esp over ones that havent been rebuilt. If someone was interested i'm sure we could talk and agree something.
