cheers, I spent quite a few years getting my garage sorted how I wanted it could do with a good tidy after I get the blue car up and running again.
Yes i I have a little lathe with a milling attachment, it's very useful at times, will be using it tomorrow as I need to make some steering rack limiters as the wisefab front uprights now give to much steering lock so I need to restrict it. Will give me even quicker steering, will be interesting to see how much? It was 2.3 turns lock to lock with the quick rack before.

The car is now all back together
I have made some steering rack limiters, I now have super quick rack 1.7 turns lock to lock. It feel very nice on the road.
I Have also swaped over to the Newage cam and crank sensor set up and new belt, hopefully that will stop the cutting I was experiencing a VMax.
The car is running well on waste gate pressure but will need a map before it can be turned up, unfortunaly that will have to wait as I am going back to work soon.

Nothing better than seeing it back on all fours after major surgery , Have you driven yet ?( obviously because its out of the garage) and i was thinking it might have slower speed tough steering ? such as hard steering when parking ect? I know its a track car but you will need to park it at some point .

Back home now
first on the list was to fit a coolovers bonnet vent to help with charge temps
I was finding after several laps on track or over 170 the charge temps were creeping up a little. I think it’s due to air flow through the cooler rather than the cooler it’s self.
next on the list is ducting into the cooler.

needs must I do have another standard bonnet if it does not work, but the company I got it from have done wind tunnel and quote big flow increases and a good gain in front down force

Next up was a trip to the Dyno, the new turbo was 600 rpm lagger and was 40 bhp down.
Was very deflated to be honest my car has always done well at the dyno I was really hoping for good thinks from this newer turbo tech.
the mapper said it pointed to the turbo being a mismatch of compressor wheel and turbine wheel but I was not convinced, I thought it might be the dump valve I had just fitted passing under boost.
I found my test blanks and decided to test the full boost pipe work dump valve etc.
as soon as I started the test the problem was clear the intercooler has failed on one row !!!

Glad I found the leak before changing the turbo back!!
I am going to make a new intercooler with a more capable core.
for now it’s fixed with liquid metal temporary.
managed to get the car out at Castle Combe on Wednesday just before lock down for a track day

not me but did have a bit of a near miss when one of the Front pads came of the backing plate leaving me with no brake pedal entering tower !!!!!! Managed to scrub enough speed and Chuck it in sideways to get round !!
wont be using project mu pads again!

Time for an update it’s been a while
I have sold my spec C
but decided it was time for a sequential
After speaking to Steve SMG I ordered an XShift +Plus I went for the longest ratios they do, I also decided to get new carbon DCCD plates and an updated DCCD coil fitted while the box was apart
the box has now arrived and I decided to take the engine out to fit it and do a few jobs while it’s out
Jobs planned
re-torque the cylinder heads
new cambelt and high RCM tension
flow check and clean injectors
map DCCD controller
intercooler to complete

Engine out, hardest part is the turbo that had to come off for the box anyway so thought I would take it out for a little bit of TLC
Injectors are now out and dropped off today at flow x for flow test and clean
Old box out again no point trying to lift it on the transmission Jack by myself ramp to the rescue
