i was very lucky to get home my ship anchored 15 miles from my house! Could well have been stuck there for several more months!

looking forward to getting stuck into the Blue car it's been a two years since I last did any work on it (a very long time for me!)

got a few more bits planned than the list above but will keep them a surprise ;)

not on 22b or somewhere else? Even the ship thing is ringing a bell. Swear I remember the username and a big power Uk turbo in blue in the David Wallace, Steven, Paul Blamire, John felstead era.

Yes that will be me I was on 22b long before ScoobyNet :)

Mike L 12 June 2020 03:49 PM

Made a start on the blue car last night had a productive couple of hours stripped out both front corners and left the power steering and engine oil to drain down over night ready for the front subframe to be swaped out.

Me too , funny how can go off people :D.
Joking aside , what a car !
Im only a learner but what are the benifits with the tubular subframes , im guessing weight and rigidity .

Henrik 13 June 2020 07:58 PM

Ooh, nicely fitted dry sump tank too :)

Yes, and also the ability to change the height of the arms and diff in the rear (I’m assuming) to keep the drive shafts level

the other benefit is also access much easer to access some bolts, also looking at running power steering lines differently now too

Mike L 19 June 2020 10:38 AM

A bit more progress doesn't look much but quite time consuming!

Completed all of the ABS pipe work required under the bonnet.

Amazing cars, attention to detail and effort.
Just when you think the true petrol head is a dying breed, its good to see something like this.
