I got a 05 sti, too. Remapped by Andy F with ppp sportscat, sti intercooler, I left everything as it was and got 335hp, plenty power for most occasions and no MOT issues.

If you are not tracking the car then I would keep the pro drive cat - they are quite good. I still have mine on my blob sti. The gains in real life do not outweigh the MOT issues. I really would not bother. Have had Subaru’s with decat and sports cat - and I know from experience it is not worth the bother unless it is a track car. I would save your money and buy things like, drop links, anti roll bar/ other handling mods.

Also forget the front mount unless you upgrading the turbo. Spend the money on brake mods instead. Obviously your choice mate - but I just wish someone advised me before I did all this stuff 15 years ago!!

The sti has a self learning ECU, I read it on Facebook
no need for a remap, fit anything you like but dont forget to post on facebook that Subaru are unreliable when it blows up.

This is modern Impreza ownership, ignore advice on forums

In Bobs words not mine, it’s more than likely your prodrive cat is causing your restriction.

He was right, and 42 bhp is quite a big difference in my opinion, it was a totally different car with the decat.

Im not sure if Bob is still on here but I think he knows a thing or two about Subaru tuning.

No argument here and definitely no ***** waving with my little acorn.

Isn't the ppp system 2 1/2" ? Moving to 3" would account for some of that increase if that is correct.
