I don't get involved when members want to rubbish the mishimoto radiators as everyone is entitled to have their own opinion.i have been running one on my car as well Raggy doo for over 5+ years now with no problems whatsoever on a high BHP Subaru....if someone owned one and it never worked/performed properly for them i could fully understand the hate...i originally purchased one because i spoke directly with one of their technical advisors when i was doing my engine build,and told him an estimate of the power i was hoping to run and he advised me the Mishimoto radiator plus the fans that is on my car,and as i said before its been faultless, he also went on to say that all their products come with a "LIFETIME WARRANTY" as long as you register it or have the original receipt,you can't really argue with that!.SJ.

i use a mishimoto on my fsti , it definitely helps it to run a bit cooler . takes a little longer to warm up on a cold morning , i had slight issue with the thread on a return pipe which they sent a brand new rad out to me , they are less likely to break as it’s often the plastic in a rad that fails , and as above 350 to 400£ upwards is the normal price for a subaru original rad ,which is not cheap , the plus side is they do last as they are well made , but when my original subaru rad died i went mishimoto as bang for buck it seemed like a good option

 

guess I might have to serve myself up a slice of humble pie..........disgusting as it may be.
I've heard so many bad things about mishimoto not just on this forum either, scottyppp had a nightmare with them and their crap customer service.
I think if I fitted one of their roads i would forever be worrying that it would fail.

 

The mishimoto rad i put on was about 3 plus years ago , it’s been fine , the warranty process was within a week a brand new rad delivered , it was very easy sent a photo warranty approved , any new rad there is a risk of failure , i am more confident with a metal one than a plastic one , the fault i had was there was a little pipe that screwed into the filler neck the thread went, the rest of the rad was fine and has been fine , after i got the new warranty rad then i found out about a repair compound , and i repaired the leaking pipe any way so ended up with a spare one

 

Why not just work out which supplier actually made the Subaru radiators, or any other reputable supplier, buy one and get a local garage to fit it?

It'll be exactly the same as what you had before which was fine for 15 years before badger hit it, except now new, and it's the cheapest option.

 

£80.59 for a nissens rad from euro with code egg80. I used one for a BMW before and it was absolutely fine.

£80 + £10 of coolant it’s 2 bolts, 2 plugs, 2 jubilees to remove it unless I’ve forgotten anything else. Personally I wouldn’t be paying to transport it anywhere to pay for someone to do this job - the hardest bit is filling it with coolant.
