However, it is with a very heavy heart that I can confirm that moderate/balanced reporting is dead and hurriedly covered in a shallow grave by the BBC.

Indeed, I WAS a staunch supporter of the beeb as being the last bastion in the media with a level reason to be balanced, proportionate and accurate against the sky/murdoch media machines.

That’s ended. It started with the TV licensing authority’s bullying tactics, I thought it was just me (empty property), but no, work colleagues were hounded in the same way, worse still one was at his late mother’s house (she was an OAP so didn’t even need to pay), as soon as they had wind she was dead the red bullying letters started culminating in a visit by ‘inspectors’. They were repeatedly told the house was unoccupied and still ignored it. Utter w*nkers.

Then they changed the laws on streaming video at the snap of a finger...try and change a law about upskirting or some other crime, nope takes forever. But the Beeb gets its licensing laws changed and updated as quick as they like. Old boys club?

Then the quality of news starts getting click-baity, articles switch from factual reporting to opinion reporting half-way through...and of course ‘opinion reporting’ as impartial as it tries to be isn’t because of the people it employs and where its based it will always be a haven for institutional bias resulting in a lack of political diversity within. Same with TV news...where they ‘interview’ a fellow reporter.

The nail in the coffin is copy and pasted articles from other sources without even properly proof reading it and fully verifying it.

Oh, and britbox...Erm what? We pay again for BBC content on top of a license? Jog on.

Sad to say, it’s time for it to go.

Listened to Radio 4 Breakfast news this morning - Lady Broadcaster (think it was Martha Kearny) was interviewing a Public Health official - she was constantly baiting him to say something controversial - fair play to him he was doing his best to play it down, keep to the facts, not be hysterical - but she jumped on every little thing he said trying to play it up and blow it out all proportions
All they want these days is to trip someone up, to say something they didn't really mean, or just cause a hysterical headline they can feed off for the rest of the day.

Can you believe how weak/indecisive 'Boris' was today?

The headline indicated the dog had contracted CV, but details that came out said the live virus was found on the dogs body. Slightly different!
