I'd like a fast Audi estate/wagon/Avant or whatever but that's a considerable price hike over a VW and I need to focus on moving to a new house, paying for the toddlers schooling/healthcare and whatever other bullsh1t the US will charge me for etc. etc. and we're doing another round of IVF which will probably add another $15k to the $30k+ we have already spent!
Looks like the Atlas 2.0 is more tune-able than the VR6, right now, annoyingly. Then again I have only done a quick look!

That sucks, if I recall correctly the fastest/most interesting stock MPV available in the US is still the Mercedes R63 AMG
The VR6 will never make any big power until they put a turbo on it, only buy one for the noise. Every now and again Autocar dangles a teaser article of a prototype Arteongoing round the ‘ring with a downsized (3.0) 400bhp turbo’d VR6...if only it were real. There’s more chance of sniffing a unicorn fart than getting one of those in a production estate/hatch in these times of neo liberal environmentalism.

Indeed, looks like there is not really a standard VR6 with anything interesting and the tuning stuff available sucks.
The wife's Tiguan does a pretty good job, we managed to get the dogs, the baby and luggage in when we drove down to Galveston last year.
Well, the search will continue! We'll see how well I can blag the next motor to the wife.

When the golf spat out bits of the gearbox I turned to the wife and said we're getting a scooby now, the look on her face and the sparkle in her eye told me she was the one, we married 6 months later.
She is a car girl through and through and used to model at car shows about ten years ago, has had a few modded cars (an mg with a vetec engine shoved in with your mother wouldn't like it written down the side, a tricked out mini and a 3l capri to name a few), she's more than happy for us to throw money at the scooby and loves driving it as much as I do. If she completely had her way we'd be driving some 5l American muscle car but the enjoyment from the scooby keeps her happy enough to not complain it isn't lol
