Good mpg...?

On the motorway at 70 ish it's pretty reasonable, but boot it and omg

I regularly ripped 3/4 + tank on a 120 mile blast

I always averaged 21mpg in the car and always got 200 miles or just above out of the tank. Not bad.

Both return around 33 to 35 mpg on a long journey so around 435 to 460 to a tank very light throttle no boost, and once you are at speed literally freeze your foot , hard work on a long run but a challenge that’s were cruise control would be nice , sensible ish i get 27 , daily with a bit of fun/ boost is around 24 or so as i tend to sit at 80 mph on motorways as with all speedos they off read by 3 or 4 mph so about 320 miles to the tank , when they were mapped they were both leaned off a bit when it was on very light throttle which seemed to help with economy , if i’m shifting around 2500 rpm and stick to 70 then again a good return as above on a long run , but i do like having fun getting to the speed limit or i may as well by a three pot 1 litre turbo focus , the mrs is trying to compete getting best fuel economy , she’s getting good at it but has now bought a mx5 which is a 2 litre go kart

Did you find out what the original cause of the head gasket going was?

Just typical 2.5 head gasket failure (heads lifting under boost) and a partially blocked radiator.

I'll be taking my new STI wheel there. I've only seen good things from them and until I looked last week I had absolutely no idea they were based literally 5 minutes from my house. Madness.

Can't wait to see how yours comes out.
