still running FB myself. Then again I was under no illusions that I was giving a massive amount of data over to them. Much like when people use supermarket loyalty cards and get a shoppers profile, back in the days, but x11.
What does kill me is when people sit there and click on all these "see what you would look like as a celebrity" posts and apps, that basically then take your data as well. And all the, "most people can't solve this puzzle unless they are a genius" or "only people with a high IQ can read this" etc. people just click like and share and give over their details like crazy and they really have no idea what bunch of marketers or cyber criminals might end up with the info they are readily giving over.
So may pages that ask for likes are just there to amass a bunch of interest and then they can sell those pages on to other companies or individuals, and that is just the nice stuff that is done with FB data and such.
I'm not sure that FB will just go away but it might need to morph a bit and pretend to be the nice-guys again (not that anyone will completely trust them again, really). People will still pledge their data to FB, hand over fist, as we are still growing big-data awareness.

I've seen interesting socially engineered attacks via FB messenger, of late. Sending people what appear to be videos, with the tagline "it's you in this video!" or something like that. Really using that narcissism that FB feeds off of, in order to get you to click on it.

I just use someone else's facebook if i need anything. closed my own account about 10 years ago. Although still use whatsapp.
If you do use facebook try on normal web browers and then see how much faster it goes on Private browsing. That shows you how intrusive it is.
Facebook is more for old people anyway lol
