It was just a musing..had to replace a radiator on a model S after it “auto parked” into the car in front and leaked all the toxic coolant into the nearby watercourse

Thought’d be some super special environmentally friendly stuff....nope.

Propylene glycol is considered low toxicity, degrades in aerobic conditions. Tesla use this in their coolant.

I think you may be thinking of Ethylene Glycol- much more hazardous but Tesla don't use this from my understanding.

Probably most auto firms use propylene based glycol. It used in variety of products, which humans put on their bodies, in their bodies.

Like I mentioned, Elon will swap to Corn glycol coz Scoobynet mini community has decreed it undesirable.

Well i take it back , we do have a tesla s driver here

the guy was right on my tail in a 30 whilst i was obeying limit

got out of town and he eased back a bit , so i drove up to national speed limit as road permited

this was all too much for Mr Tesla , so nearing next town he was impatient to show who's boss and promptly planted right foot thus exceeding limit by x 2 at a guess

Seems to be the new yobbo / insecure little man car of choice !

What you have got there is a 'd!ckhead' driver, period. Could easily been driving a ferrai, merc, audi or anything else.

The conditions determine the speed not the posted limit.

To guess about an outcome is to be wrong.usually

Of course it is, I was talking about speeds up-to the prescribed limit.

Could have sworn the bottle said it was Diethylene Glycol with OAT inhibitors. Maybe it’s changed since

Anyway the production of propylene glycol is a bit of a concern due to the byproducts of the manufacturing process which if left unchecked (India, China etc.) isn’t great. Glycerine is ‘supposed’ to be a bit more cleaner.

Again these super chargers without supported infrastructure is just not the right way of doing it. At the very least any home or charge point with one needs a mandatory modern smart metre fitted with a supplier/grid operator managed shut off facility built in to cut power in situations of excessive demand (meters in Spain do this automatically on a local level according to the customer’s contracted ‘potentia’ ).

That or force users of high draw chargers to implement local storage to compensate for surge demand, feeding stored electricity back into the grid if needed.

At least until the infrastructure catches up. Won’t be any time soon. Not round here at least; Western power are replacing pole transformers around here with visible rust and just swapping them like for like. So no increase capacity, same type of unit so same grid losses, no smart monitoring/management etc. But what incentive is there for them to spend even more money on increasing capacity?

I’ve had three power cuts this month alone!

Annoying as my internet (FTTC) isn’t on long enough to properly stabilise at a decent speed.

Finally bit the bullet and bought a UPS now (APC 1400bx ).

I think it will be more to do with every home having aircon units. Like I do,most of the comments regarding charging are we charge overnight, when its cheaper. USA like UK ,drivers on ave only. drive 35-40 miles per day.

The statistics are building regarding accidents per distance.

Using Tesla with autopilot is far safer than a car without any form of driver assistance

'In the 2nd quarter, we registered one accident for every 4.53 million miles driven in which drivers had Autopilot engaged. For those driving without Autopilot but with our active safety features, we registered one accident for every 2.27 million miles driven. For those driving without Autopilot and without our active safety features, we registered one accident for every 1.56 million miles driven. By comparison, NHTSA’s most recent data shows that in the United States there is an automobile crash every 479,000 miles'

I use two UPS in our home and just acquired 2 more for sensitive equipment power outages. Our Broadband doesn't drop out, nor sky box and main tv. Our home server is also protected and my Zwift/turbo trainer setup.

Im,sure you willWwill be pleased we are changing our property soon having acquired a farm. Good news it comes with enough roof space for 100kw/hr solar array

A few Tesla walls and I reckon we will be grid free electric power

I keep seeing drag car comparison against Tesla vehicles. Its getting ridiculous with more and more power ICE still being beaten or just about matched in performance.

Latest challenge BMW X6 M with 750bhp couldn't beat a Tesla model Y Performance.

Why dont legacy makers just accept electric is the way to go

Hell, my little Nissan out guns hot hatches where it counts, pulling away from junctions upto national speed limits

What a complete numpty driver. Currently autopilot is a driver aid not fully autonomous system.

He certainly dented the 2.5 million miles between accidents for autopilot compared 250k miles for non Tesla vehicles

Talking of electric, my EV RTV for the farm is coming next week

A set of off-road tyres are on there way too.

Time for a supertax on private vehicles with a curb weight of over 1600kg IMHO. Applied retrospectively in phases starting with cars over 850kg with big jumps in tax when over 1200kg.

‘Leccy too; Supertax if over 1800kg...

Absolutely! Small BEVs are a good solution, big ones are an environmental catastrophe! Reducing vehicle weight will do far more for the environment than switching to monstrous EVs.

Little ones are only a small catastrophe

Seems your argument is losing ground, EV are becoming the norm over all others.

If I was going to get an EV it will not be a Tesla as I am starting to find the modelling of the 3, X, S etc quite bland. I saw this in Germany and it looks epic in real life - https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/...oda-vision-iv/
