I'm still waiting for your list of innovation from Samsung, last three years will do. I can't think of anything, not one thing is new, just bigger numbers for the same tech. In that time Apple has developed it's own CPU, GPU, Haptic Engine, 3d touch, the list goes on and lets not forget Apple develop the operating system, they don't get it for free from an advertising company. AR Kit, still waiting on that from Google, let alone Samsung who do what, add bloatware to a free bit of software... that's cheap.

You do realise that the note 8 256gb is £140 more expensive than the 64gb version and that’s buying from eglobal. If your good at maths you can tell me if that’s works out more than $140?

Get out of here with your facts.

I have a dongle thing for my 8, something to do with using a headphone socket, but seeing as I don't have any headphones with wires it's in the box. Nice of them to include it, I can see some people leaving it in their car or on their old school headphones if they have them.

I hear Samsung will be including a similar dongle with the S9, playing catch up again

I go to the gym and see people using wired headphones. It looks a bit awkward trying to train with a fragile cable in the way.

Funny thing is his beloved Google did away with the headphone jack on the new Pixel but he doesn't harp on about that.

He's a Sammy user not google, you asshat.

Anyway everyone is going headphone jackless, it's just a thing right now. Most Sammy users I know are furious about it as the s9 will be losing it too. So yes I'm harping on about it. Unlike you I can rationally dislike things that Sammy etc do

You're a cockend, again you've taken my reply and the last set of messages out of context, Neil was quite clearly talking about the make of handset and not the OS, cockskin.

Unless, you are suggesting the OS has some direction on how the fecking handset body and motherboard is designed, which would be completely moronic, wouldn't surprise me if you did.

64GB is £585 ( < £140, if you are good at math)
That’s a very small difference when you don’t get any new tech with the Samsung, plus it runs free software from an advertising company that sells your data. Plus, you never see a Samsung retail store, any issue and help is weeks away, service costs. Plus, resale value of an iPhone is massively more.

[QUOTE=toffee_pie;11983716]Cant find too much to harp on about the Note 8, if anything it would be the small battery (small for Samsung users but huge for fanboys) but getting almost 30 hours between re charges works with me.

You can’t find anything to harp on about because nothing is new. Not surprised that you can get 30 hours when the rest of the world can’t.

The area to the top and bottom is not a 'display' as such as Samsung dont have it intended to be

Why ? , seems a bit of a con !

I don’t think anyone (other than you) actually gives a ****. Seriously, watching films on a phone is the sort of shot teenagers do because they can’t afford a proper tablet.

Such a dick, fine for you to use a setting to crop a film so it fits, but not OK for Apple to show a film without using the extra bits of screen, you don’t know how foolish you are.

And I have to agree, only a teenager would watch a movie on a phone, I’ll bet you pirated it too.

Most people will watch the odd Youtube clip and that's about it. Trying to watch a whole film on a phone is just tragic.

Two problems, firstly (as has been explained previously) there's a significant difference between predictions and reality. Secondly if you're taking within 10% to be "almost 30 hours" then it's no surpise you think everything Samsung produce is amazing. I'd want to be a fair bit closer than 10% to be calling it a win.

The Note 8 can indeed display in the entire screen, if you crop and zoom the image to fit, basically ruining the movie so you can use some extra bits of screen. Very similar to watching a movie using the two extra pieces of screen apple has given you.

Take a look at the top of your screen, pretty much the same as mine, signal and battery strength, a few other bits of info that fit quite nicely into the two extra bits of screen leaving a lovely full display below. Edge to edge all around too, not just the sides with a huge gap top and bottom like yours.

Pirated movie! I don't have any pirated movies and never have had any pirated movies, I'm not a teenager that watches films on my mobile phone.

Never leave Custard Pie, like Trump and Brexiteers you remind me that people are stupid.

Two posts still no link, are you having trouble finding one or are they all just empty promises from 2015 LOL

I should also state that here I am working on a 5k display, you on 8k? 5k? 4k? Pretty sure my entire iMac costs about the same as a 5k screen for a PC

What's amazing is multiple reviewers found that you could just about make a full day - not 24 but 16 hours - when using power saving extensively, but TP... 30 hours no power saving

My iPhone 8 lasts between overnight charges, every day, no tricks no bull****.
