If you hate watches and watch talk....

Yes they do look nice and have heard after care is good.
My son in law machines a lot of the parts for their watches
I like the cheaper Casio's mostly because I don't like big watches, as long as it's got light, alarm and date I'm good... then at 20 quid a pop when the battery dies I just get a new one... straps are usually about done for too about the same time.
But don't bother with watches these days as I have my phone with me all the time.
Last time I wore a watch was my Raymond Weil dress watch to a wedding and that was last September, don't even know where it is now.

I've noticed they always look daft on men with spindly wrists!

Whilst enjoying my breakfast in Venice, I don't look too out of place with my Brietlling next to all the beaoootiful people
A lot of people scoff at luxury watches costing so much, but they do hold their money well.
I got a Brietling Chrono Avenger M1 in about 2010 as a discontinued model, and it's been nice to own and is worth more than I paid.
Also got a Tag Aquaracer a couple of years back, but never actually got around to wearing it, so sold it on eBay for more than I paid (after fees).
So cost of ownership can be quite low. I think buying pre-owned from somewhere like WatchFinder makes a lot of sense.

Lol, I've got pretty normal sized wrists so it's not really because of that... it was more to do with my job sticking my hands up behind car dashboards and in the stereo slots fishing for wires, big watches aren't really conducive to that sort of stuff, and I just don't like the bulk or weight of them, biggest watch I ever had was my dive watch (casio) back when I was into scuba diving... still got it and it still works too must be 15yrs old.
I've also got a Diesel retro lcd fashion watch bought purely because it reminded me of the watches I used to wear when I was a kid, that's quite bulky too, but really don't wear it much these days.
Agree about a decent watch being a good place to put money, my Raymond weil is still worth what I paid for it 20yrs ago...and maybe more.

Rolex are faked so much that people will ask "is that a real Rolex" whether it is or not.
Anyway, James Bond now wears Omega so they must be better
