Can I ask what car it was?

I'll check with them about that before I go pick the car up. We've discussed things like mapping etc and the car is going to a local tuner to be checked prior to collection.

Hopefully there won't be any nasty surprises for me (Or the OP) when we finally collect the cars. I had asked them to look for a Type R but then the Spec C Type RA came into stock and decided to go with that.

Yellow Spec C. Same as mine.
What is the name of the local tuner they use?

I' m sure that Torque have upped their game since me moaning at them, after all they ship in alot of cars and did solve my problems. I don't think they had dealt with many hatches tbh.

More pics in from Torque GT this morning. I think you will agree that apart from needing a wash it is insanely clean. I can't believe the underside!!

It is booked in on the Hoegh Traveller which is set to leave on the 26th January and has a ETA of the 16th of March to Southampton.

Awesome looking car! The waiting is the hardest part! Well worth the wait though.

Now (Or soon) there's 3 of us. They're becoming common as muck

For mapping have a little look a your options with racerom. Far cheaper than what we've all previously paid with alcatek and simtek etc.

My exhaust was standard on entry to the country and was ridiculously quiet. I spent hours watching youtube videos and settled on the Miltek turbo back which is still very subtle and quiet until you're above 4500 revs so very easy to live with.

Mine came in with more miles and CP Autos went over it with a fine tooth comb and couldn't believe how clean it was.

I've been in touch with Hedgecutter and we've yet to meet up and compare but we'll be here to help.

Hi Mark

To be honest I don't have a huge amount of plans for the car wheen it arrives. I think it has a standard exhaust but this underside pic looks like it's coated in something so may be aftermarket.

There is a tuning company I have been in contact with near Torque GT called Enginetuner who have a good rep so was going to take it to them. If the exhaust is standard was going to go sports cat, panel filter and remap.
The only aftermarket exhausts I have found for these cars are H&S and Miltek. Quite expensive I feel. I have had a quote from Prospeed for a custom full exhaust system which was hundreds of pounds cheaper.

I have infield display and two track sessions booked at Japfest Donnington so far if you and Hedgecutter are about for a meet.

That is ridiculously clean, engine bay and underside is spot on

You must be buzzing, I'm picking up my hatch STI on Wednesday and I'm a little bit excited to say the least. Thankfully I don't have the wait you have, Just a 500 mile round trip to contend with.

I wouldn't use Prospeed Exhausts in Cardiff if I were you, they really bodged an exhaust on a previous Impreza for me. The car had to go back 4 times in total for them to rectify problem after problem.

They only know how to build LOUD exhaust systems even if you ask for something subtle until you give it the beans, for the sake of your ear drums and sanity buy an off the shelf system from Miltek etc.

Charlie is a nice guy when you're spending your money, but if you get a problem or have a complaint then you'll soon see the problems I'm trying to steer you away from.

Thanks for the heads up buddy. The last thing I want is a 'look at me' exhaust. Not my thing at all!! Plus Cardiff is 2.5 hours away!

Search Japanparts.com and see what aftermarket exhaust silencers are available from STi, I'd bet they do some nice silencers in place of the standard item.

Stunning car!
How sad am I? I've just checked what I'm working on the 16th March. Thought I may be down Southampton East Docks that day, and may see it parked up somewhere. Turns out I'm rest day that Thursday, and spare the following week, so could have anything.

Will keep my eye out for it though.

Love it.

Waiting is diabolical, isn't it? I'm off to Enginetuner for a map tweak nxt week. It won't be long!

Yeah it's a killer lol. To be honest the car will only be used April to September anyway, but at least if I had it I could look at it and polish the thing
Boat was held up for a few days in Livorno, Italy. It is due into Barcelona, Spain tomorrow. Thing is the wait isn't over when it gets to the U.K

How come you are having a map tweak! You fitted some new parts?
Hope you have washed it by now!
I'm pretty much set on having Enginetuner fit a sports cat for me and them doing the remap. (Will have an uprated panel filter also.) They seem very knowledgable and tidy from my emails and internet research.

In other news my overlays were delivered a week or so ago. Thanks salsa king.
I went and ordered a splitter yesterday also from HTAutos. Both are on there way to Torque GT. Picture of splitter below:

Contemplating whether to book track time at Oulton Park for Tunerfest also but haven't committed yet.
