Do any of you mine coins using a pc and make any money from it? Everything you read now says you need an ASIC rig but i'm cynical and thinking it's just wanting to put new people off. Running a top end gpu such as a 1080 some people claim they can earn $7-$15 a day with software such as sniffdog miner.

I doubt you'll make your electricity back without a pretty hefty investment, plenty on youtube will show you their negative income. You could mine some alt coins.

I’m getting pig sick of Facebook experts wrapped up in some referral/MLM scheme. “Ask me how I made money from sh1tcoin” Too much “trading” not enough using and rarely do they have private keys! I try to link them to https://www.cryptokitties.co for safety.

Not financial advice but yes, chuck a few quid at each.

"Can you spend it?" I think it is more of a currency exchange mechanism. You can buy other crypto with it

Pinched this from another site (dated 2013....!)

"As far as I understand, XRP is a centrally issued currency that doubles as a method to pay transaction fees in Ripple, apparently needed to discourage attacks on the system.

The currency is in its first phase and is being given away to encourage people to use it and to get into using Ripple. The Ripple system can transfer any currency of your choice. It can exchange between currencies "in transfer", i.e. you sent dollars and your friend gets Danish Kroner, at least that's the idea.

XRP is an underlying thread. It can also be transferred and used as a currency, but you must have some on your account otherwise Ripple won't work for you.

So while they are being given away at present, I believe they will gradually pass to being sold starting out cheaply but at increasing prices as time passes..."

I like this https://bisq.network haven't used it yet but will soon.

I hear a few negatives thrown at Ripple, not saying it's not great tech but I'm alway reading that it's centralised and pre mined, probably a FAQ.

You should put your money where your mouth is and short it, now looks to be an awesome time.
