No - your insurance company investigate the claim - so they don't have to wait for SYP or anyone else. The 'fees' are the £10 (or so) fee for data protected information - i.e any results from the enquiry, conversations with yourself etc

If your insurance company are not willing to pay the £10 fee - then they will only have access to the limited information from the initial call, which will have your reg listed - which is probably why she is saying it is still down as your fault.

Sounds like you want to complain about you insurance company for not doing anything

Ho ho, sounds like the police are never in the wrong?

Anyway, I have a contact there now who is following up for me. We'll see what she says.

Never said we are never wrong - that's why I advised you to complain before.

But we are often an easy target to blame when things don't appear to go their way - or when (insurance) companies don't want to pay their fee to get information they need for their investigation.

Or when you can't be bothered to investigate because the perp didn't have a bar-code you could photograph, use to identify him provisionally, and send him a letter demanding money with menaces? LOL

You KNOW I speak the truth.......

Eh? - you been on the sauce again!!!

It would appear that your insurance company can't be bothered to pay the fee to release the information they need to conduct their investigation. Seems a bit of a 'Mickey Mouse Company' that can't be bothered to pay a simple fee.

And what photograph? - You never mentioned there was a photograph of the accident, if so what was the reg on that? Perhaps you could send that to your insurance company.

One of us has been on the sauce: I said:

THAT'S why motorists are an easy target. But hey, you'll deny that too...apparently there are people out there who ring you continuously DEMANDING you persecute motorists and do fek all about loads of other stuff.

You know, like motorists....we all have a nice code you can record and charge us for any misdemeanours, don't have to move from your heated scam van, or heated office to demand money with menaces.

Unlike when folk get their garages broken into, and no-one even turns up.
Or when their kids get assaulted and they get TOLD where the crims are, one wielding a knife...but no-one turns up.

And you STILL wonder why you have lost the public's support...or deny you have, LOL.

Not so easy, you see.

And while I'm on it, what's this FEE for "releasing info"????????? Isn't that your job, to investigate and make sure it's all settled properly??????? Jeez we pay enough on our council tax.......

Ah - i see you have spun it back to speeding again. Just don't go over the limit and you'll be alright. And no 'demanding money with menaces' if its not you, just say so or use due diligence. If it is you, why no just admit to what you have done. Still only about 1% of our contact with the public I'm afraid.

And like i said before - if your not happy - complain don't moan.

The fee is about £10 for releasing data. Not police's decision, data protection law dictates this. The police are not responsible for paying out money in car accidents - that's the job of your insurance company - you know the one you pay the money to for the service. We investigate it from a police point of view. Any findings, evidence, statements, witness details, DNA, breath & toxicology results etc etc is securely stored and if private persons want access they will need to follow the set procedures to release the data. Or do you want the police to break the law and give out details ***** nilly?

That's been on YT for ages.

Someone's evidently freshly uploaded it for some reason.

The cam guy is a fuking pr1ck

The police are under staffed and have to deal with time wasters like him daily

If the police want to be taken seriously, ditch the speed cameras and replace them with ANPR and have units close by. Get disqual drivers, no MOT, no insurance, no road tax, pool cars, off the streets, then you might get some credibility back.......

So, if I walk up to a copper and slap them nothing should be done or would be done ?
Which after a Google it shows they did nothing but talk to the Copper in question,

I recently reported 3 youths in a car, one waving a firearm out a car window, I rang 999, they did nothing, the vehicle they were in had no MOT/tax or Insurance, hadnt for a number of years.

Not all of them are bad to be honest
there's always the ones that would go out of there way for you and help as I have found and then some that will make you take your socks off to check for drugs for no reason what so ever when it's suppose to be a routine check over !!

I've learnt along the way not to argue with them as it only makes things worse infact you can't win they will always have you one way or the other if you get on there wrong side,
I'm alwYs the first to pull over and walk over to the passenger side of the police car and it makes things more pleasant

Update:

This is STILL ongoing. Nothing from Hastings, (my insurers), their silly girl in claims just kept repeating that "we have to go on the version of events we've been given", which is rubbish.

South Yorks Police STILL not confirmed it in writing, despite telling me a month ago by telephone.

Even tried Sainsburys Ins who are the damaged vehicle's insurers, and, of course, they are not interested at all.

Further Update:
Hastings just rang me back and told me that Sainsburys have had the correct vehicle number for the car that did the damage all along, but have negelcted to tell Hastings....

I'm now awaiting an email confirming it wasn't me........
