Also bear in mind that that is 94 degrees in the shade - the sun temp would have been well over 100 degrees and add in 85% humidity and they are seriously energy sapping conditions. Even Nigeria look knackered in the last 15 mins and they are used to considerably hotter conditions than us. It can take a long time to recover from the effects of heat exhaustion and dehydration. Sven has to plan for the possibility of playing another 4 games with basically the same side.
A win would have been nice, but not essential. I can't believe some people on here. When Ericsson took over, it was doubtful that England would even qualify for the World Cup. Now here we are, through to the last 16 with Argentina (
), France, Portugal etc all out. Give a bit of credit where it's due.
