So Brexit seems to be a good thing then.

The answer is we leave fully on the 29 March and use WTO. The irish border is a non issue so trading with WTO. The EU are terrified of losing a regular large sum from the UK and more importantly a huge world economy sat on their doorstep and having absolutely no financial or political control over what it does in the future. Companies will want to continue trading with the UK and vice versa. 13% of UK exports are with the EU, overall trading in percentage with the EU has been in decline for over a decade and dropped by over 10%. If we get to WTO, a lot of these so called issues will fizzle away in a few months and life will continue tomorrow as it did yesterday for the vast majority of us.
Never mind, you can jump ship to Australia if it goes full pear-shaped. Maybe catch up with F1fan and slag this place off from afar.
The flight to Aus will probably stop over in Singapore, he can catch up with his mate Dyson while he's there too!
Yes, and without the backing of the EU, this sort of blackmail for a trade deal is going to become the norm. What a surprise.
Still, we will have taken back control! Well, not control of our food policy and regulations, but.........

My, its gone rather quiet. Was that the last dampened firework attempt by remainers to thwart the UK leaving the EU? If the EU remain intransigent in their position, bringing to the forefront that its their deal or no deal, the UK can move to WTO 29th March,we shall see

You have exposed yourself Andy, I don't think anyone takes you or your posts any more seriously than those of Alcazar.

I remember we started our Y2K planning in 1994 and we were pretty late getting started. If people only understood just how much work went into Y2K to make sure it was a non-event! The fact more or less nothing happened just shows what a success 6+ years of planning and work did. If only brexit was so well planned!
Yes, here we're so powerful apparently we can simply threaten EU with WTO
in the hope that theyll be last minute capitulation and theyll just have to us offer us free trade - to survive at all
What can possibly go wrong

Except Y2K was a real problem, and it was only the huge amount of work put in to prevent it that, well, prevented it.
However, there is no similar level or planning or preventative work being done for no deal, so when you say storm in a teacup, you are comparing apples to oranges.

Yes, I still work in large enterprise IT and was heavily involved in the Y2K work. It took years, was a huge effort, and to say it was a storm in a teacup is akin to calling the security services useless because "we don't get that many terrorist attacks". It shows a complete lack of understanding of the reality of things.

As above; just like leaving the EU.
