Anyway. Google Pixel Phone. I do like it but like I said, seems expensive. Does anyone think it will be worth shelling out on? I'm very tempted.

I'm still banging around with my Galaxy 6, which I do love, but that is on my UK contract. For a move to a US contract or whatever, I'm thinking of making the switch.

I have that other US ZTE thing for work.....ugh...

For a raw android experience and decent video/cam shooter yep. For everything else... meh. There are better Android alternatives for a lot less.

Way too expensive for what it is imo. That half glass on the rear and large bezels as well, ugly.

Over priced also, which I already said. Think I said meh also.

They priced this far too much, if they went in a bit lower they could have taken quite a few punters.

The Zen Fone Deluxe and several more are better buys.

I like the bit where he states that you can feel the performance gain of the new snapdragon processor, presumably before it was known that there is no performance gain in the model chosen, it does save 5% in power usage which is not too shabby.

The next Samsung Exynos will destroy that (in real world tests!).

Samsung are one of the few people capable of 10nm fabrication, they have been a bit too ambitious in recent years i think recently churning out at least 2 flagships each year and QC has dipped. They still need to regain consumer trust but i would not worry too much about them.

Samsung Exynos 8895 is rumoured to be faster than the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 830, and Apple's A10 processor that are yet to launch

You know that occurs in the lungs, right? I know, basic cognition has been proven as difficult for you. Locations of medical issues and general use of internets are far beyond you.

Yeah, I think you may be right, I like the idea of getting the 'full fat' Android Experience but if it's not much else and not gonna set my world alight then other handsets do indeed sound like they should be explored, thank you.

I have liked the Samsungs and had all the Galaxy's since the S2 but I just dunno, fancy something different but it would have to be Android and not IOS or Windows stuff, for sure. Maybe if I can pick up a Pixel for cheap but otherwise I may be back in the Samsung camp, they've done me right so far.

Not strictly true as it can introduce bleeding in the brain but since you don't have any you should be fine, I like the word 'internets' , not seen that for a while. What other flashcards have you seen by specialists?

Buy a Nokia 3310 that should be good enough for someone like you.

Close call on the cameras, I fully agree with the results of this review but would go with the iPhone due to OIS and Portrait mode.

Amazing what's possible really.

LOL, breaking news.

Jack selects the iPhone over an android, any comment on the 2,770mAh battery and its quick charge 3.0? suppose Apple wins on that too, after all they are not ready for such great heights until they further evaluate this technology out since 2013

This is a good review http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/19/1...s-value-camera I'd definitely have a Pixel if I needed another Android device.

A couple of points to back up things I've already said

"Google needed control over the hardware simply to unshackle the full potential of its software."

"The iPhone still retains the crown when it comes to resale value."

It has no microSD slot so i'm out. As you'd have to be insane to pay what they want for the 128GB model.

If I was made to use removable storage I'd be out, what a pain moving stuff around, 256GB for me next device. It's faster too.

Except you don't have to move anything about its all seamless once the sdcard is in. 128GB isn't enough space for me anyway.

Fail, please try harder. You're not contributing anything here, good work.

Come back when you have something interesting to say, you're not very good at this....

Yeah, this was the bit that interested me, but I don't know if I am completely sold on that anymore.

So, what's a decent alternative then? (not an iPhone, Jack )
Staying in the Android realm. Something that makes a good use of Android capabilities/functionality. I am guessing Samsung is my best bet.

Yeah, but if you need removable storage why would you just leave it in there??

So many variables, for cheap One Plus... something friends have them and none of them dislike them or as you say S7. Those are the only two I have any experience of, there may well be much better choices. What about Huawei?

?? for the extra space dummy, pay less for a phone with a smaller amount of internal storage, for arguments sake say 32GB then pay a pittance for the extra 128GB or larger sdcard. And the speed difference in real life is unnoticeable when accessing the sdcard, well it is with the s7e. Then if i wish to take stuff off the sdcard to say a PC or anywhere else, you just use an app either wirelessly or wired to do so. Having said that you don't really need to bother as yknow everything is on the cloud, unless you are OCD about backups.

Looked at the Huawei, don't like them, I think I'd most likely stick with Samsung then.

I really would take a look at iPhones if I wasn't already heavily invested/linked to Google stuff. I know it sounds nuts but I really don't know if I could go for something without an audio-jack though.

It'll be a tossup between S7 and Pixel if I can find a deal on a pixel, then. There isn't much to choose from out there, that is proven quality.

Wait until you see the speed difference between the iPhone 7 with 256 and the 32GB. It makes a difference.

I've always bought the largest available storage on both iPad and iPhone and I'm bouncing on the limit of 128GB probably over it as iCloud does a pretty good job managing archiving. No it won't be a pittance but cheap's not on my shopping list.

Also, I don't trust sdcards, perhaps unfounded but it's there.

Definitely not nuts, I think I could do it as I have an iPad which covers most of the apps I like and purchased. Everything else is easy for me as I'm heavily invested in Google services, Google apps on iOS are very, very good.

Get the Pixel, I'm pretty sure most Nexus customers were happy enough and there are clear benefits of tighter control of software and hardware... in a good way not a tin hat way.

I won't miss the headphone jack as much as I'm going to like my new headphones. I heard that Bose would do a trade in on my QC's so that might happen.

HTC aren't bad, though they've scrapped a lot of the factory installed apps in exchange for mass market options from the Play store. Which is a shame as BlinkFeed was quite a nice app.
