Default Google Pixel Phone

This phone looks pretty good and considering replacing my iPhone 6 with one instead of waiting for iPhone 8 which will likely be more of the same. It has all the hallmarks of being a true iPhone killer! A first for Android, optimized for Google's own hardware, highest rated camera, unlimited cloud storage for photos and videos, premium build and design, Google Assist and of course a headphone socket.

That actually looks a bit interesting does that, Googles take on what an Android phone should be rather than a third party interpretation. The quick switch adaptor sounds like a nice touch too.

*mind you I've done a bit of reading around and they're only IP53, which is a bit pants for a £600 smart phone.

To be honest, all this "water proofing" is over rated and a load of bollox. Of all the phones I've had, none of them were "water proof" and I've never had any issues. For me water proofing doesn't even come into consideration when buying phones. I don't shower with my phone!

Rebranded in so far as an iPhone is a rebranded Foxconn phone!

Hmm, these do look kinda good. I may have to see what they're like.

I need to get a phone that connects to the VW in car entertainment thingy (mirrors the phone etc.) Hopefully this one would, I know iPhones and Samsungs do, but my piece of crap, 'made in a danker and bloodier sweatshop than an iPhone' ZTE phone is a complete piece of shoit. On a pay monthly tarif though, so it's $45 as opposed to a contract deal that would be at least $120 per month

I would have to go with phone only and use it on this prepaid thing, but $700+ is a lot of money!

Wow! Just read that Android now contains features that will only be available on the Pixel phones, thats a kick in the face for other manufacturers and a good glimpse at the future.

That doesn’t mean it won’t ever arrive on other Android devices in the future. It would be stupid of them if it didn't at some point. They are limiting the features now so that they can flog the pixel.

I don't think Google will be providing free unlimited full size photo and video backup for any other Android phone or apps that are tied to specific hardware of the Google phone.

I think it's just the beginning, Google can't progress at the rate that Apple can with such diverse hardware and slow adoption of the latest OS.

Utter rubbish most of the pixel "features" are just added into Nougat which it uses.

LOL, having another swipe at Android.

Such a loser you are Jack.

How do you get by on a day to day basis i wonder, continually checking this forum for insults against the idiots in Cupertino making devices that dont sell as much as they would like.

Apple are having crap sales, the iPhones are as exciting a toilet paper.
Android manufacturers at least are having a go

can I say 'destroying everything else in real world tests?'

thank you.

Look, if it had a silly wrap around screen but otherwise looked like an iPhone you could say they'd copied Samsung. As it is it's almost identical to an iPhone and even nougat is moving closer to iOS styling. You won't see that though, too much custard in your eyes.

With circa 25Million sales of the S7 edge by the end of Q2 2016, Apple would love a slice of that figure.

More BS.

That's awesome but a bit weak, Apple sold 40.4 million iPhone units in Q3, that's one quarter not two and you don't see me bleating about it.

Almost forgot, have another custard pie.

Iphone could be any particular model. Samsung sold more devices than any other in 2016 the sales helped by the S7 series and in particular the S7 edge which has been the most popular smartphone of the year...Jack

Lucky for Apple, Samsung screwed up the Note 7 to give them some glimmer of hope only for Apple to go ahead and release the most toxic of iphones in 2016 themselves.

If Apple are indeed doing swimmingly (which they are not as any Google search will show) why are they trailing in global smartphone sales.. globally. (And not just smartphones...)

Because they suck? Over rated..

Not everyone is like you Jack.

Just a thought.

Share prices on the way up and approaching a 5 year high, yeah going really bad for Apple.

Anyways would the pair if you **** off and go back to ruining the "walled computer" thread. This one was actually half sensible until you two turned up.

Apple have been having a bad time for all of 2016, if shares have gone up so what? Samsung shares have went up and down for months.

LOL at your irony here... go back to the walled computer thread.

Will you two guys give it a rest? It is getting to the point where you two ***** turn up on a thread that is half decent (which is a rarity in this place now) and ruin it.
