Tough call......

Mind you, it depends if you look like a 70's **** star with a mustache. If so, stay off the grog for another month.

Well, I've not had a haircut for a while and I've a black tie event in the middle of November. That, coupled with a healthy mid-life paunch, puts me at risk of looking like the Go Compare guy. Back on the booze I think.

Cheers, Dave! Listening to OK Computer with a glass of decent Shiraz at the moment. We've lit a few fireworks, too. Hope you're ok, old son!

I've been teetotal for quite a while now as I am convinced alcohol is a lot worse for us than is made out, particularly in terms of causing cancer. I think it caused my father's cancer of the oesophagus, and my mother in law's stomach cancer, neither of whom survived :-(

They were doing OTT consumption, by the sound of it. My late father in law drank two whiskey shots every night after work, and he ended up developing gout and threat to his life in his late 40's. He didn't die of alcoholism, though. His very early death at 53 was due to terminal Leukaemia.

Anyway, I saw this article a couple of days ago. It covers 'before' and 'after' pics and little info on the perps who gave up.

Quite encouraging IMO.

Would you like to join me? I'm doing it to raise funds and awareness for The Fostering Network; so should you wish to help this tremendous cause please let me know. Alternatively, a donation of just 10p per day (£3.10 for the month) would be very gratefully received.

Thank you in anticipation,
