If you can't afford to get it on the rollers for a check then you could always buy a cheap vagcom cable, you should then be able to reset the ecu properly and do some datalogging of your own to see how the car is running, plus if you post up the log files it might help in looking for any problems.

i could afford to get it on for a check just not a map, like I could get a diagnostic. Do you know if a mapper could easily reset for cheap or do you think it would be the same as mapping? Also I could get a cable pretty easy.

Cool,if you use the romraider software for your data logging then hit the LTV button before you reset the ecu, this should let you know if things are healthy.
You could always post up the results on here as it might help to get to the bottom of your problem

Personally I wouldn't use a boost controller, the ECU controls boost very well.
A MBC would only allow you to lower/increase boost across the board, electronic boost controllers you would have more control.
An decent electronic one will be around the same price as a remap.
Since you have no boost gauge then you don't know how much you are running, plugging in the cable and the software will show you what your boost levels are.

If your mate had the cable then you might as well use it to data log,see if you can get it to hit fuel cut while logging, but like I said looking at LTV will be helpful.

the ecu reset won't do anything for fuel cut if your overboosting, the car needs mapped to suit the modifications or a diagnostic to see why it's overboosting if the map is standard. A boost controller will only make things worse as your masking the problem instead of fixing it.

Yup a £10 cable and free software is money well spent.
It might not even be a boost problem,if you say it only cuts when cornering hard?
Impreza does suffer due to the design of the fuel tank if you run on less than quarter tank.
What petrol are you running?

oh Really that makes sense it does do it more on low fuel, also more things are pointing to lambda or fuel pump because its doing it at low revs no boost too now, but iv manage to get a diagnostic sorted for tonight so fingers crossed its a lamda guys haha.

if you suspect the o2 sensor you can try temporarily unplugging it and see if the situation improves. The o2's have a habit of snuffing it and just reporting a solid 14.7 reading to the ECU so the corrections get a bit out of hand and the car drives wonky.

Don't leave it off too long though as if it's not faulty then you'll kill the sensor so just do as a quick test.

Ladies and gents I think we may have found the issue. So tonight coming home from work it was really bad but the fuel light had just come on when I was leaving work so when I got back to my town I filled it up, brimed it totally, then whent out to get the diagnostic it came back nothing but it ran well the whole way out. I then whent out tonight and did 150 miles and I did a lot of boost no cuts or anything. Was running sweet ! So my guess is the fuel pump or fuel lines or something like that so I'm gonna keep it topped up as much as possible just now and try get the back seats out to have a look, if there's no leaks to be seen in going to assume fuel pump and replace it. What do you guys think, also if I put in an uprated fuel pump will I need to remap it?

Thanks again guys the scooby has made me all happy again.

PPP came with a 255lph pump upgrade iirc so you already have the PPP map on there you say.
Still needs mapping for the decat and other upgrades imo.
Even with a new pump, running on a low tank and hard cornering you are likely to suffer.
This is why you find most track cars with external pump and swirl pot.
