Default Built engine refresh

I've got a 2.1 that hasn't run for 4 years due to various reasons.

I've now started it again, and unfortunately it's developed a massive leak from the rear crank seal.

As the engine has to come out anyway, I figure I might do a refresh on it, however what is normally involved in this? Is it usually new seals, rings and bearings, or is it more involved?

The engine is 6 years old, and has done about 20k miles, but as said it's not run for 4 years...

might be worth checking the oil PRV hasn't stuck giving a pressure overload causing it to blow the seal out or it could simply be the seal has dried out with sitting around??

in general it shouldn't require a full refresh but like all things exact spec & use/abuse will dictate work required

Thanks alyn,

I think I might go with just the seal (and check the prv) for the time being, as the engine has had an easy life so far.

Do you sell the seals?
