Good to see Lingard given a new deal. But if you were JM, who would you be buttering up to keep? Who would be getting the hairdryer? Full squad, I think, below.

1 David de Gea (G) Spain
20 Sergio Romero (G) Argentina
3 Eric Bailly (D) Ivory Coast
4 Phil Jones (D) England
5 Marcos Rojo (D) Argentina
12 Chris Smalling (D) England
17 Daley Blind (D) Netherlands
23 Luke Shaw (D) England
24 Timothy Fosu-Mensah (D) Netherlands
25 Luis Antonio Valencia (D) Ecuador
36 Matteo Darmian (D) Italy
38 Axel Tuanzebe (D) England
6 Paul Pogba (M) France
8 Juan Mata (M) Spain
14 Jesse Lingard (M) England
16 Michael Carrick (M) England
18 Ashley Young (M) England
21 Ander Herrera (M) Spain
22 Henrikh Mkhitaryan (M) Armenia
27 Marouane Fellaini (M) Belgium
42 Matthew Willock (M) England
9 Zlatan Ibrahimovic (F) Sweden
10 Wayne Rooney (F) England
11 Anthony Martial (F) France
19 Marcus Rashford (F) England

Keep De Gea. The rest aren't good enough.

starting with our first choice team we can then look for possible squad replacements or where we need to improve

GK - De Gea - irreplaceable
LB - Shaw - needs game time but potential
CB - Rojo - awful at LB but showing good promise at CB
CB - Bailly - proper no nonsense, love it
RB - Valencia - machine but can't go on forever
LW - Martial - blows hot and cold but potential
CDM - Carrick - amazing but getting too old
CM - Pogba - Needs to pull his finger out and stop playing for the cameras
CAM - Mhikitaryan - no idea why he doesn't start every game the guys class
RM - Rashford - needs his confidence back, losing the ball too much
ST - Ibra - will guarantee 20+ goals a season, but needs movement around him

subs

Smalling - amazing last year, this year very error prone
Hererra - loves united and tries hard , sometime I think if pogba showed his passion hed be a better player.
Mata - A poor man's Mhiki IMO but he comes up good in important games
Young - Can he leave now?
Rooney - retire please, you're no Ibra
Lingard - love the energy and sometimes the only player on the pitch moving but tends to clog up the middle of the pitch when he drifts in
Fellaini - cant head a ball , fouls too much, slow, need I say more?
Blind - Good back up player, much like plhil Neville can lay lots of positions
Jones - injures himself and others too much

Seems we need a striker (Griezman pleaaaase? ), or two if Ibra goes
someone to replace Carrick (cant think of any teams like Bayern who would want to sell their players like Thiago etc...)
A commanding centre back.

minimum.

just my opinions

I agree with a lot of above. I do like Hererra in the middle - his stats this year are very good and from the last few seasons I didn't see that coming. I'd keep those below and then look to get a some top additions. We need a couple of genuine strikers, some pace in the LB/RB area - love Valencia but we need cover and Shaw has had his chances and not taken them. Would think about Carrick but we really need to move on sooner rather than later. Sell Rooney to China for a pretty penny and buy. One young lad I really like Fosu-Mensah - potentially one of the best going forwards. Mata has world class vision and passing, he just lacks pace, but I'd retain him as he can turn games with goals.

I've no doubt we'll see new faces in the Summer, but we need a clinical world class finisher desperately.

1 David de Gea (G) Spain
20 Sergio Romero (G) Argentina
3 Eric Bailly (D) Ivory Coast
5 Marcos Rojo (D) Argentina
12 Chris Smalling (D) England
24 Timothy Fosu-Mensah (D) Netherlands
25 Luis Antonio Valencia (D) Ecuador
6 Paul Pogba (M) France
8 Juan Mata (M) Spain
14 Jesse Lingard (M) England
21 Ander Herrera (M) Spain
22 Henrikh Mkhitaryan (M) Armenia
9 Zlatan Ibrahimovic (F) Sweden
11 Anthony Martial (F) France
19 Marcus Rashford (F) England

fantastic effort, I thought Young showed great energy, pity his shooting boots were on the wrong feet
Herrera, Roco, Rashford outstanding
even Pogba looked strong
Now lets make sure were in Stockholm lifting that Europa League Cup on the 24th May

Indeed , If Young had the correct feet, then it should have been 4 - 0

Best game of the season for me. What a refreshing change to see us attack with so much pace. Herrera had Hazard in his pocket all game. Could have easily been 5-0 if we had taken our chances. Chelsea didn't have a shot on target the entire game.

Opens the door for spurs. It pains me to say it as know a fair few spurs fans but they have been brilliant to watch this season and I would not begrudge them winning the league.

I think the whole team is good, just think they need another world class striker, as some of the commentators have said the united squad has lots of depth, maybe not as much class as say Chelsea's first team, but they've basically got 2 teams.

Herrera did a good job with Chelsea, Rashford and Lingard ran there defence ragged. Young and Valencia were amazing on the wings. It was a good display tactically and effort.

That was fantastic fun last night

Old school cup tie, throwing the kitchen sink at it knowing that Anderlecht could nick one at any given time.

Rasher was immense loved the Cruyff turn

Nice to see Shaw back to somewhere near his best, Valencia, best right back in the country right now ??

Big game Thursday.
Couple of games on Wednesday which I'd like to see go our way too.
A win for Leicester, and a win for Palace please

Big Sam seems to have done the business for Palace, who would have thought would beat Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, as Kami would say 'Unbelievable'
We can get top 4 now, it's in our hands......and win the Europa league
what a first season for JM, and I didn't think he was right for us, shows what I know

Had to laugh at Souness on Sunday, he said about Benteke, there is a player in there somewhere but he just wasn't good enough for us (Liverpool) I bet he could've eaten those words at full time - hehehe

WTF was Fellaini thinking. He's a clown.
Could have cost us big time.

OK Aguero when down like a sack of shyte but still, he's just received a yellow moments earlier.

Aguero's a 'Rat', he's way to cute for Fellaini, he knew if he faced up Fellaini, MF would put his head down towards him and then he could collapse like an MFI wardrobe

Fellaini should have given him a right hook as well, I can't see MF at OT next year

Point gained last night, poor game

Job done as that was a game we could not afford to lose. Fellaini is just a muppet full stop. Thankfully it was near the end of the game.

We definetly missed Pogba in midfield last night and rode our luck a little but defended well. Was disappointed with Martial who started well but just seemed to switch off and not look too bothered. Lingard and Young always have a bit of passion about them.

If Martial gets roughed up a bit he looses interest, I'm not sure about him for the future, maybe a bit like Nani, too much of a primadonna and only shows glimpses of magic
hopefully he mans up and develops in a real star

It's quite worrying when you see England internationals go to ground so easy as with Kane yesterday, I guess it's the way the game is now....Cheating, trying to con the ref to get an advantage.

Even Rashford was at it, thought he'd be better than that.

Alexis sanchez was at it aswell. Lucky he got a card for it.

Then we have a list of other players

Including Vardy.

I'm saddened that Rasher did that, although I would imagine he has been trained to do it...
