I picked my highly modified classic up 6 month ago,it was mapped by some 'pro' mapper, luckily I had a lead to data log......not so lucky that the forged engine let go
My data logging showed it was detting It's **** off(just after a remap for the twin scroll) the Pistons showed signs of det before exploding!
Obviously Most pro mappers(especially ones with a good rep) are safe but I would rather map my own,awt goes wrong then I can't blame anyone but ME!
Agreed

Its easy to get help to...plenty of people who are willing to help and share the knowledge

Its not as mich of a black art as we are led to believe

Just itsbthe finishing touch after spending all the money on an engine for example

An engine can let go though at any point forged or not

Its easy to point finger at mapper!

Id rather blame myself thoug and learn the whole package

Building,tuning,breaking haha

You are best off getting in touch with them direct,I've heard support isn't good tho unless you are a dealer?(Not spoken from experience with alcatek tho)

Andy doesn't reply to any of my questions any more , maybe they are too basic to answer but a reply would be nice , I've a feeling since he charges for his courses he is reluctant to answer some questions . Or he doesn't like me , either way I get more knowledge on his software from you guys lol

I've not asked Andy any questions recently tbh.
He has been good in the past tho.
I really want to go on this course but my problems with the rebuild have held me back, next one is mid July so might see if I can attend now my cars sorted

definitely get yourself on the ESL course ossett2k2 - we had everything from first timers to seasoned vets in the room and everyone learned from it.

In my experience Andy will get back to you and he's answered more than a few utterly random questions from me, Alcatek I've reached out to a few times but not been able to get a response.

Not sure on which simtek/alcatek that is dkenny, some of the older simteks used gems software so you need to see which one is actually inside the casing. The simtek software can be had off their website and it will log for you (has on board logging and PC logging) but a different program was needed to view the logs (I had to use the gems log viewer even with the new simtek software). It's not a CSV file but their viewer does a decent job of 3d/2d charts.
