Thanks chaps.

Really looking to seeing what we can get out of this, although I probably won't do much over the first few months, just to make sure everything is OK as it needs to be run in.

Just received some timing information from a stock RS3 that ran on Sunday down the pod. Banged in a 12.04! Ha

That's an awesome time for a stock car - they apparently dyno at 380-390bhp stock.

I thought the one I took out for a test drive felt quick. lol

Best get in run-in and down the pod to get the first stock one in the 11's!

Hi Shaun, must say that wasn't expecting this change from you, but then again you are getting older now ...... first a merc now an Audi.... im just waiting the "I've bought a Jag" thread next.

No in all seriousness think you'll find in the real daily world it will be every bit as good as the A45, with an even better cabin to sit in. I test drove an A45 and found it quite compact inside, so decided against getting it.

Interested to see what you can get out of the RS3 in stock form as the stats are pretty impressive for an off the shelf car.

Hi Mel,
Something in life is for sure..... we all get older!

I quite like the latter shaped XF's tbh! Ha I might change to one of them for the daily hack. lol

As a road car, as you suggest, the RS3 will be fine. In many ways quite similar to the A45, but in many other ways, quite different.

There's nothing wrong in owning a Jag as long as it's an F type

I too will be interested to see how this car develops.

I've been lucky enough to drive one and it's a cracker of a car in my opinion.

The noise is something else .

Hi,
We test drove a CLA45 and also thought it was a bit tight inside. Drove the S3 saloon around the Dubai autodrome and it drove very well and has a much better interior than the smaller AMG Mercs.
Imagine the RS3 will be a very nice place to be!
Good Luck Shaun - with your new car!
Cheers
Steve

Too big mate. Needs to fit in my garage which is the size of a shed! Ha

Had size not been an issue, I would have been in something like an RS6 or GTR tbh.

First world problems and all that.

Those are problems I wish I could wake up to It's like my mate who wanted to trade his R8 in for an Aventador but it won't fit in his garage and he already had his garage made bigger to get the R8 in. Hindsight and all that

LOL - And I wish I had THAT specific problem.

We all have some form of "First world problem" to deal with in our own way, I'm sure.

The most over aspired hatch back in human history....

I wouldn't have it even with a Ferrari engine in it

Tidgy,
Handover is this Saturday mate.

dpb,
LOL

At least it's got something about it then, even if it is for being "the most over aspired hatch back in human history". That's quite an accolade.... you're too kind.

Love the Macan Shaun but need more poke as I miss the GT-R/A45 performance but the R36 is too far away. RS6 is the perfect all rounder but need to decide on what colour and waiting on confirmation of Apple CarPlay as part of the latest A6 updates.

Does the RS3 have the new virtual cockpit?

Boyakasha,
Very nice..... the RS6 is a monster when mapped.

No VC on my RS3..... that, I suspect, will come with the FL version whenever that gets released. I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't happen until next year now. The FL will most certainly get the new aluminium 2.5ltr engine as well. This is one of the key reasons why I've decided to go for the current RS3. This engine is proven.... the new one for obvious reasons, hasn't been.

Tidgy,
It would be rude not to mate.

Good choice Shaun.

Why's the RS3 no longer listed on the Audi UK website??

My mate has just received his walkaround video saying his new RS3 will be ready for collection in the next couple of days. I've challenged him to a RWYB, although I don't think the odds are in my favour. Despite our quoted 0-60 times being nearly identical, he'll have about 20 more horses and just pip me for torque. My RS is 70kgs lighter, but the key factor in his favour will be s-tronic. Unless, of course, I get a cheeky Stage 1 tune done beforehand and overlook to mention it.

But if what you say is correct and stock RS3s are pumping out 380bhp, I fear it still may not be enough. Unless I go Stage 2...

Good choice by the way. I test drove one last year - they're solid cars and pick up speed so effortlessly. I was impressed with the adaptive suspension. There was a noticeable difference between the modes, unlike the mag ride on the TT or the adaptive M suspension on the M135i, where the difference between comfort and sport was negligible. Oh, and the interior certainly takes some beating!

UC,
It will be interesting how good the new FL TT-RS pans out. That might be my next car, or of course the v2 of the A45. I've a feeling that will be a good step on from the current FL A45 again.

Daviee,
I wouldn't subscribe to this thread.... we're just chatting **** here!

The project thread will go in the Project forum when I kick it off.
