No where as focussed as the A45 IMO, but variety is the spice of life IMO.

Well if you're considering something similar in size to the A45, I think you'd have a lot of fun with the 2.5 block in the TT RS or RS3. It's a beaut, sounds great, and has more tuning potential than the 3.0l found in the S5, for example.
I only drove the 45 on a very tame 20-minute test drive but it definitely seemed more hard-edged than my RS. But that's one of the great things about the TT. It's a fairly mild, easy-to-drive runaround when driven gently, but becomes a different beast in sport mode when driven harder. Suffers from a bit of body roll when really pushing on, which is why many opt for uprated arbs and switch to KW coilovers. But in standard form it's a great all-rounder.

John,
I'm constrained by garage size. First world problems and all that! Currently toying with an RS3. No where as focussed but it drives fine for road use.
Mate of mine bought a new one and wheeled it straight into MRC! He picked it up after having a 500bhp conversion, and went the next day down the pod. Banged in an 11.3 straight off! lol Car has an 11.2 in it IMO. Vbox data I have from this car is pretty awesome.
60-100mph 4.1!
100-200km is being seen in 7.8!
Stupidly quick for a hatchback and so much more further you can go, even from this level.

Car Ive bought has 4 new tyres on, (17 plate needing tyres) lol, But it drove well, And has got every AMG option , In white with lots of black bits added, Ive been looking for 6 weeks or so for a car to replace a diesel car, Walked in and out of a BMW showroom Nothing at all I would buy in it, Audi showroom I had a RS3 for a morning real nice car but not for me, And I'm a Audi fanboy Had loads of them, We went to the Merc showroom spotted the AMG , The interior just wow very nice , BMW & Audi has stood still with the interior more so BMW, The Mercedes have come forward leaps and bounds with there petrol engines and the interior /exterior design . And its QUICK.

Weve had an A45 for 2 years now, 2014 model pre facelift
Its good car, no probs whatsoever. Ate a front set of Conti's in 8,000 miles, now have MPSS on the front for the past 10,000 and about half worn! Had the tyre hop when manovering but it only seems to be when the tyres are worn
Yes its quick, however I cannot bear to drive it in comfort mode. No pops from the exhaust and seems lethargic when you want a quick burst. Sport and manual are a blast though
Averaging 30mpg which is great for 360bhp!
We have the service plan....£35pm for 3 years which is great being the last service was £1200 alone on the Mercedes website. That's the year 4 service, so in effect we are getting 2 services for free
Our car is out of warranty at the end of the month, again £1300 for another year to extend which we will swerve. We are treating ourselves to a remap soon so approx. 410-430bhp for £500 - £800 all depending where you go
Build quality is average....its a bit rattly and squeaky in places
But I cant really fault it tbh, glad we bought it and will keep it for a fair few years yet.

Thanks. I think i'll be struggling to find one for 22k with the exhaust and aero kit however i'm in no hurry. I've need to sell my 2015 Repsol Fireblade and my Fiesta ST-3 both of which are really low mileage so might be waiting until next Spring before it's possible as wrong time of year to be selling a bike. Hopefully prices might have dropped a little if it takes me that long.
Im loving that new cockpit, gonna wait for the 400bhp one to drop then have a look.

No as not sold my Fireblade so will be waiting until Spring time now. Depending on prices i’m wanting the CLA 45 as I prefer the looks but might well be out of reach so will have to see. The only advantage the A45 has is I could get the dogs in the boot.
