so were comparing a 28k 4 cylinder single turbo 2.5 litre 4 wheel drive car to a more powerful 42k twin turbo 2 wheel drive 3.0 litre 6 cylinder car???
why did,nt you just buy the beemer last year-would,ve saved a shedload of depreciation. performance is a given considering the much higher specced engine.
the impreza is in a completely different (lower)market sector-
better to compare a45 AMG or Audi rs3 or new focus RS really.

New BMW M2 is a direct rival to the A45 AMG/RS3, Not going to put it in the same bracket as the new Focus RS as good as it will be I dont think it would be anywhere as good performance wise(standard) as the cars mentioned, in a straight line the Focus RS is slower then a Golf R as it cant keep up with the cars with DSG/S-tronic/Auto gearboxes.
apologies was looking at 335prices lol - still not a very like for like comparison really though - modern dsg boxes are all but unbeatable-instsnt changes and seamless acceleration -they just all seem a bit anodyne and not quite my cup of tea for a performance car , my priorities are different though as i only drive my scoob on the weekends lol but a fair way from a standard car anyways
Discounts are still available. My wife got her fully specced M135i for £29k with 3 years servicing and wheel and tyre insurance. It far out strips my 320R in the dry. Just needs the lsd upgrade for the wet. What most people don't appreciate is the they all out do the quoted bhp figures by about 10% so are nearer 350bhp and the torque is incredible from 1200rpm (torque=acceleration). Match that to the 8spd dog and there isn't much on the road that will keep up. In fact there is very little between them and a M3 on 0-60 mph. Rare I drive it without surprising some unsuspecting tuner. You can also get an X-drive version in Europe.
