I agree, I done the engine bay on mine and it was well worth it, because every man and there dog wants to see in there. So nice to have it looking good.

I'll see how it comes out. If it needs engine removing and more doing then so be it.

I've put photo's up of mine all done in Members Gallery - Classic TypeR - Newage SpecC.

They look good painted, you'll end up wanting it done later. That's just my thoughts.

I've decided to have engine removed, serves two purposes

1, should make for a better bay respray
2, opportunity to replace clutch & flywheel as they are an unknown at this point.

While its out its be rude not to fit a nicely refurbished and powder coated front subframe, this is how it looks at the moment, off to powder coaters Wednesday hopefully.

Also bought one of these to instal ready for mapping, when it's finished.

^ I'm sure the hassle of removing the engine will soon be overtaken by the pristine looking bay to compliment the body, now we just need you to do it 74f instead of white

white will be stunning especially when you stone chip the underside and put a white top coat on it

there's no end to what you can do is there

brilliant pictures, that bays going to look superb and with all your powder coated parts it'll last another 15 years
The bumpers are a nightmare to rub down, got my P1 bumper and splitter done last year, all hand rubbed so slow but sure
I got xpel paint protection fitted to the front end to stop the stone chips and save all the leading edges from grit and stone damage

A few pictures of mine, so I know how hard it is to do all the jobs, did mine over the winter in the garage jacked up, nightmare, you're better on ramps to make it a hell of a lot easier and more comfortable lol

Looks great mate. It's going to be a challenge to returb items and making subtle modifications without losing the originality of the car.

Everything I'm taking off is being stored just in case it were ever to be put back to bone stock.

My P1 is a standard apart from the up rated front and back Arb's and drop links, the new struts all round are OE, It's got the Prodrive P1 extras - Alcons, Elect recaro's, P1 back box and full Prodrive mat & boot set
I've kept all the original items in a box just in case I sell, I might refurb the old struts as there still OK not leaking, so will be good spares, if I can find the poofy pink KYB paint colour to spray then lol
Your car will be amazing, the paint shop look as though they're making a great job

Gary who's doing the job at West Herts seems just as excited about the final look as I am, which is really nice for me.

Hardest but now is not getting carried away and keeping the parts bill from getting out of hand.

I've ordered some new OE roof trims, plus the two trims that go over the top of front and rear screens, as again the ones on the car where showing their age a bit.

Couple of pics of my v3 type r. Just decided on gold wheels after seeing a few others in white/gold. Ive kept mine as standard as possible but had to have 2 pots on the rear. Mine was a full paint but I left the engine bay original as it wasnt too bad.

WOBF - I'm liking the Anthracite, better than the Gold, especially with the red calipers
The golds don't seem to fill the wheel arch as well either (maybe photo angle)

painted bay would have freshened her up just like Cornishes

Nice car

The pic with the gold wheels was taken after fitting the wheels and dropping it down off the jacks. The dury is still out at my end too.

I think it's the really dark type r rear tints that make the Anthracites go better (I think) lol
