OK Cheers.
Not really into paying these fees.
I pay over £1000 per year as it is. Cheeky barstewards....

Well ,
decided to go with it.
Paid the fee and had it fitted today.
Not sure as yet, about its reliability.
Fitter was here over 4 hours.
Had to fit 2 boosters as well as the 2 mini boxes and the main Sky Q unit.
He could not get them to talk to each other apparently...?
Could not get the signal strength to my shed which is what I wanted most of all so will have to get a Cat 6 cable up to it instead.
I will give it a few days and see how we get on with it.
Ummm bit disappointed so far.......well certainly not left me feeling chuffed with it anyway.

Give it 6 months and you'll be pulling your hair out at the monthly payments for not a lot.

Too be honest its working out about £10 a month extra and I did not have HD before or the extra box which my son has now got in his bedroom.
HD will be good as it is vastly superior ,certainly when watching football and Ultra HD will be online in the Autumn so will play it by ear and see how we go.

Had Q for a month now.
Only upgraded really as my magic eye in the bedroom was giving up the ghost. As I've been a long standing customer I've had a £99 credit added to my account which has more or less offset the setup fee.
Looking forward to 4K content but need a tv to suit
Anyone have any insight as to the cost of the 4K channels?

Yeah, I read some of that, but it doesn't quite tell me much.
Is this like a KODI type setup?

No mate that's the streaming which is crap and makes you want to put your foot through the TV, this box runs off your sky/virgin broadband cable and has a program guide quit similar to sky TV, you get full HD on your BBC/dave etc
And you get your sky movies, sky sports f1, sky sports and bt sports all in HD aswell as all your Eden discovery etc, and **** and ppv boxing event's.
In the few months I've had it I think it froze no more than 3 times and all I done was change the chanel then change it back and it was sorted
Honestly mate I can't praise it enough, I think the virgin box has got more HD channels than the sky one from reading the site

The problem with those Open Boxes is people supplying the "line" have a tendency of taking your money and cutting you off!

I already had a Samsung slim 1tb hard drive so just used that mate 40 quid new off ebay, forgot to mention it has some plug ins like the android box but they seem to always work rather than buffer or no content don't know if they use there own servers??
So you have all your boxsets and some apps for new movie's with good quality too

I thought that Sky changed their encryption algorithm for the HD channels, therefore no Sky HD channels are currently available via card sharing services.

Are you saying that with the system you have, you are able to get Sky HD channels such as Movies and Sports?

Yeah exactly that mate all I have is virgin broadband now and one of these boxes, if you can't get virgin in your area they do a sky box where you need a dish and sky broadband but you only get the freeview channels in HD I believe but you still get the full package
