going off the top would worried me but I guess if he'd passed out more likely he'd go down rather than up

I lol'd at the "...wee and poo catching me up..." comment. Complete with his trademark massive mug of brew. The nut.

The guy is insane, he clearly wanted 80+ and was only stopped because it was a live show.

Yeah, he seemed slightly annoyed that he wasn't allowed to have another go.

He was in the zone.

I noticed that straight away too. Think that was to make sure the car just didn't rip away at the start. Wet tyres in the dry slows the car down a bit.

Plus, locking the wheels up on the Brake test actually makes the car take longer to stop.

I enjoyed it but I thought the simulator and aero thing was bull****,
they didn't even have the right model transit on the screen, and how could they know the van would slide out of control if guy applied throttle at speed.
The van was completely untested and the simulator people had no reference to engine characteristics or power delivery (that I know of).
And I don't believe for one minute that spoiler did a single thing.
I love how guy would rather go to sleep in his van than deal with the over enthusiastic Americans haha

EFA

The sim had been loaded with all the aero characteristics of the van and from the underneath as well, so the sim's interpretation if you like was based on this plus the van's dimensions, weight etc etc. They knew it was going to have 650+brake that's what they used.

The sim quite clearly used the wrong year and shape van though. So how can it be accurate is what he was getting at

I know, well it was a transit, just not the latest model, basically the same

Depends if they used the physics model for the correct van or not. It may well be a case that they created the physics model but didn't bother with the graphic model because it was unnecessary.

The last one was good although disappointing, still 280mph in a death trap So he failed every single challenge in this series?

I didn't bother watching the airship episode but the human powered boat was shocking, that crew from Lincoln Uni really were hopeless.

Mind you the section with Chris Hoy was interesting purely for the stats about peak power.
