Hopefully that will end all the crying and wailing noises I keep hearing as you drive passed my house

No no, I'll still keep up that tradition as I pass your house, don't worry. However I'll make sure it pops and bangs as I go past now that feature is available. Should drown out my wailing!

Happy with my Genome, H&S and Prodrive combo. Gives a lovely noise now. I like my neighbours and don't wish to make their ears bleed at all times of day & night with a titanium exhaust.

So, there I was this evening walking the dogs, minding my own business when this hooligan in an FSTi drove passed popping, banging and farting

Seriously though - heard you coming and the sound was awesome - looks cool that low as well (although it was too dark to see properly).

Lol. Went into hooligan mode past your place to see if you could hear me, but didn't see you walking the dogs. I'd have pulled over to say hi if id have seen you. I like the fact it drives sedately or slightly more fun without effort.

I was just in front of Peugeot (probably behind one of my neighbours cars) as you were fast approaching the line of cars in front and had to apply the brakes a little bit

I had to keep it above 3krpm to get it to pop and bang at you, so I started to gain ground on the car in front quicker than I'd have liked! lol.

Thanks mate. Can't tell you how pleased I am with the car now. Drives fantastic and the power delivery is so much better than after the 1st attempt. So responsive to drive and so smooth.

Also makes my kids laugh when it backfires!

He'll write a new bespoke map for your car based on what parts are fitted and what it can safely achieve. Let us know how you get on!

Am so pleased with mine now. Makes me smile every day I drive it. Can't believe just how different it is from the 1st attempt. Power delivery is superb now and sounds just awesome!

Been a while since I updated this thread with something decent (Partly because of the recent photobucket ball ache issues). I've got a few upgrades planned for the car now so I've been stock piling bits.

Fitted the Subaru Spec R gear ****, feels great apart from being FARtoo cold in the winter and FAR too hot in the sun. Otherwise perfect! 😃

I'm going to be upgrading all the speakers to a full set of quality Hertz component speakers front and back which I had fitted in my Impreza. They are a really great speaker and will be a massive improvement over where it is now. I've done a little research into what is possible subwoofer wise in the standard enclosure location, as I want everything to look factory. As such I purchased a new 400w MB Quart 8” discus which should help. It will be powered from a Rockford Fosgate punch amp I have in my stores department and run from an RCA attenuation control so I can turn it down easily. I don’t want itshaking my car apart, just want a full stereo sound.

Some time ago I purchased an ODBKEY Bluetooth dongle for the ODB2 port which now connects to my dash mounted tablet and gives me loads more gauges and engine data whilst I’m driving (whilst still able to stream my Spotify stuff). I love a bit of tech. 😊

So to the main event. When I purchased the car it came with a lovely STI Genome forester specific factory rear box from Japan. Oliver, the owner before me had also fitted a nice H&S resonated centre section and since I've had it I've fitted the Prodrive sports cat downpipe and custom 2nd decat pipe. All is good, car sounds lovely and goes great. But I fancied a change...again! So I've been on the lookout for something different for some time now and it presented itself in the form of a rare TSL group N back box complete with TSL de-resonated centre section both from an Impreza. The build quality is fantastic and these things hardly ever come up for sale, so I jumped at the chance. Obviously being made for a newage Impreza there will be a few mods required to both sections, so 2 nights ago I got the car up in the air to fit the rear box and measure everything up. I’ve determined that the ø4” tail pipewill need lengthening by 35-40mm to sit correctly just past the rear bumper. This is something I will do as I don’t want fumes to build up under the car or risk melting the rear bumper at all. The centre pipe will need to be lengthened by 100mm to suit the Forester platform.

So in readiness for this I’ve purchased quite a few other bits like a new 4” rolled tailpipe (outwardly rolled as I wanted something classic/retro looking once complete), a length of 63mm (2.5”) stainless exhaust tube, some stainless 2.5” flanges, new gaskets, some 10mm diameter stainless round bar to re-make the 3rd rear box hanger, some new mounting rubbers for the box, new genuine donut gasket, new roll of stainless mig wire and loads more.

I have a VERY large industrial mig welder in my garage that cost me a small fortune years ago and I love a bit of welding, so I plan to do all of the stainless welding, finishing and re-polishing myself on this. Why pay someoneto do a job I can do myself!

Few pics of parts and progress last night below.

Parts as I got them.

Original tailpipe now cut off.

New tailpipe length difference, just right extension where I’ve cut the original one off.

Test fitted ready for welding.

I took the car to a local show this weekend, Boosted cars and coffee and it certainly received some attention, even parked next to a 650bhp monster of an Impreza. 😃 Sadly, I completely forgot to take any pics. Will see if I can find any online that others took.

Lol. Thank you. I spent a whole 15 minutes with the wax out the other day. First time it's seen wax since I bought it!

Of course it's filthy again now.
