Hi,
Boris is speaking live on Sky news right now.
His speech is amazing and full of hard facts on Brexit - well worth a watch!
Cheers

Its because everyone felt it was inappropriate of him to comment like that. The PM is not wading into the Presidential elections, not making veiled threats about getting to the back of the queue*1. Did Obama wade into the general election? This is a matter of a nation exercising its democracy to choose its future. ITS NONE OF ANYBODY ELSE'S BUSINESS! How dare foreigners interfere in a nations democratic process like that. Its not acceptable*2
Right, why wouldn't/shouldn't we go to the back of the queue? Believing we should get some sort of special dispensation because we're us is supremely arrogant. There's no reason why we should be given priority over any other country.

As for the comment about foreigners, I think that says a hell of a lot the problem people have with his comments (last time i checked the term was xenophobia) .

Has he managed to avoid saying anything mildly racist this time?

Oh come on, you're letting your world view point get in the way of reality! In trade deal negotiations, do you really think that the US will approach Great Britain (5th largest economy in the world) the same way as the Gambia (178)? Will one get preference over the other? Of course we will get preference, its in everyone's interests to do so. To claim otherwise reflects poorly on you.

Sigh, and so the name calling starts. Its not a "dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries" so say our democracy is nothing to do with them. That self-governance is just that, WE govern ourselves and its no-one else's business. Again this tactic is used by so many on the left to demonise their opponents, its really quite revealing as to the lack of argument they actually have. Its beneath you

Can I be the first to say here that leaving the EU won't start WWIII

Who's to say we can't be like the Swiss and shirk off any war involvement like they've done since the 1800s touting their neutrality as a reason not to get involved in anything.

I've been fairly neutral on this subject but when I read utter b*ll*cks like this, I feel like voting out just in pure spite at those who publish this tosh.
Swiss neutrality is an interesting one, not sure how they have managed it. Of course, declaring your neutrality and getting it are two different things, as a few nations found to their cost in WWII.

But that nothwithstanding, I find Cameron's statement a bit daft. There will not be war as a result of a Brexit.

But, if Brexit led to the break up of the EU, I wouldn't be so sure.

And that's a sweeping assumption based on personal opinion. Yes we may well get preference but there's no guarantee.

It's not name calling, it's a genuine observation. You said it yourself, he's a foreigner how dare he.

As for saying it's no-one else's business, that's not showing the best understanding of global economics/politics. Voting out would fundamentally change our position on the world stage (we'd be leaving a group which contains both the 4th and 6th largest economies), of course that is other peoples business.

I agree, what hope is there of a rational debate when our OWN Prime Minister is spouting rubbish?

I personal feel that the break up of the EU will be down to if/when its economy collapses. And that will depend on Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy. And if Germany etc say is enough is enough with the bailouts and austerity restrictions. It will be a messy break up, though.

This is silly even for you neil...you know as well as I that what was meant was, "he's foreign, so nothing to do with our country and how we rule, therefore what does it have to do with him?"

To suggest otherwise shows you are becoming desperate. LOL

Alcazar gets the point, and he is correct. You are trying to use a pejorative label of xenophobic to win the argument. We are both telling you you're talking rubbish

Your next door neighbour is going to dump 4 tons of horse **** in his garden, in July. He then plans to summer in Spain, what do you do? It's his garden, it's none of your business.

If you say nothing, you are clearly lying. So if the UK is planning to do something that will affect other countries, why shouldn't they have an opinion on it and say it?

Your metaphor is bogus. Its nothing like that. We are having a democratic vote, its no-one else's business. If option X wins, neighbours have to deal with it, if its option Y, they have to deal with it.

If you have a prefernce so what, back off, its NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. Otherwise you are meddling in another countries democratic process. Bad thing

I wonder what Warren's view on foreign interference would be if there were leaders from around the world urging Brexit.

I may actually have believed you if it wasn't for the fact you've both got previous for blaming anything and everything on foreigners.

Really Neil? ANYTHING and EVERYTHING? A bit Reductio ad absurdum dont you think?

I engage with you because you're not so much a stranger to reason as Martin, and not so into the ad homs as Hodgy. I have confidence in my point of view and am prepared to back up what I say. I hope that is one thing I HAVE demonstrated.

As for your specific point, sometimes foreigners ARE the problem. Ask the Copenhagen police.... http://newobserveronline.com/80-cope...nals-nonwhite/

Granted 'anything and everything' was an exaggeration but I'd stand by the sentiment that you both have previous for blaming things on foreigners when the reality is just as many natives can be blamed for the same thing.

Ah, but I don't INSULT him, or name-call. I simply point out that his method of arguing owes a lot to the politician on the fast show: "No, no, no it won't/hasn't/doesn't/isn't."

Denial with no backup argument.

Absolutely not, it's quite valid. You running your household, I have no say in that, which is akin to running our own affairs. However, us leaving the EU will affect the other nations. To say otherwise is disingenuous.

Brexit is not as clear cut and simple as you like to make out, so the two are inextricably linked. So, why shouldn't they give their opinions?

And now it descends into madness. Even as a remainer, I thought Cameron's latest talk of war was silly, but it would seem the Brexit campaign want to get on the silly trail. A Conservative saying the EU favours the wealthy and is responsible for social injustice.......

You really couldn't make it up

Latest FT Brexit poll of polls:

https://ig.ft.com/sites/brexit-polling/

Currently just a 3% swing towards Remain.

Will be interesting monitoring this right up till D-Day.
