In any case, I am praying for you to harmonise more with the humanity and less with the anti-humanity fundamentalist crap that comes with any religion. Yours is your Christianity which you're very serious about, I understand.

To whom are you praying, Swati?

It's completely meaningless. I've answered every question that's been asked of me, some very personal, I've been transparent and honest. All I ask is that you reciprocate, Swati. Now, what is this "God of Humanity" with which you have a prayerful relationship? What are its attributes and character, how does it relate to humanity? Is this god salvific and personal or historical? How does it account for evil and how does it view humanity's future and so on and so forth?

The same could be said of your "answers" though. You have replied to the questions you have been asked, but you certainly have not answered them.

people obviously have different views - we are a broad church after all

but I don't think this has descended into a "full blown" argument (yet)

it has been conducted reasonably amicably and in good faith by all sides

You've looked for physicalist answers to metaphysical questions. I've done my best.

Indeed, I'm sure the parents of this little girl might well question the existence of this "god" fellow.

A deist, then? That's fine, but how does one 'know' that god in a way that enables prayer?

Sorry, James. I've been busy.

Here we go:

I've answered every question that's been asked of me, some very personal, I've been transparent and honest.

You haven't been as honest and transparent, James. You evade by poeticising or questioning or accusing in return. Example of that is the post where I ask you to choose as per your own proposal, and there you accuse me of 'making' you choose, and question me on that. Then you waffle about Satan, God and Jesus in relation with you feeling accused, convicted and then bailed out. Intellectualisation doesn't always cloud the reality, James.

You also didn't answer at all what you get out of posting illogical and controversial material repeatedly, when you know that you'll get high degree of criticism here. That's because some your Biblical rules are really very controversial in this day and age. For example, marrying your devoted lover only if she becomes a Christian. So, it's alright for you to live with her, have a physical relationship with her and reap the benefits of the partnership with her, but she's not worthy of marrying you because she isn't a Christian! Come on, man.

Also, no one asked you anything personal. You opened up yourself about your personal faith here, and you keep going in about it, as your mandatory 'duty' to Christ; with your support to its twisted beliefs. You talked yourself about your other personal stuff e.g. you marrying, not marrying, choosing between her and Jesus etc. as your answer to others. They asked you about it because you yourself talk about it and keep calling yourself a hypocrite for not complying with your Bible. So, just because you've been all transparent in your own eyes and voluntarily made personal disclosures, I don't have to, in return. Please don't do this bargaining and wheeling- dealing with me.

I'm, in no way, obliged to reciprocate in return to your voluntary personal disclosures; in your wheeling-dealing terms. I shall respond with the purpose of clarifying the meaning of my God nonetheless.

The God I'm talking about is the humanity itself. In other words, it's the common sense that tells us not to hurt others because it's not nice to be hurt ourselves. It f**king hurts when someone hurts us, so why hurt others. Is it difficult to understand? I was not talking about a literal prayer, I was pitiful towards you and was talking about hoping that the common sense shows you the well-lit path to itself. Common sense may help you see the parts of your religion (that you glorify tirelessly) as clearly quite anti-humanity and manipulative.

To summarise:

James, you are the one who keeps posting the threads on your religion and then aggrandising your fundamentalist nonsense. You put yourself in the hot seat by doing so, not me. So don't divert this thread to God while the thread has actually progressed to the criticism of the sickly and fundamentalist rules that your path to God i.e. Christianity suggests and that you glorify. It's a transparent diversion and hardly a covert manipulation, and it won't work.

Basically, please, stop getting hung up on my 'praying' and the 'God' bit, and accept that your Christianity is quite crooked at places; God or no God, prayer or no prayer.

Ok, so when you state "I am praying for you", you don't mean that you're praying for me, you mean something else. Got it.

Oh, and when you say you're praying to "the God of humanity" you actually mean that you're not praying to common sense. Is that right?

That 'something else' isn't some manipulation or evasion, like some do; with their wordy and referenced waffle, which makes a discussion going round n' round in circles X goodness knows how many f**king times! That 'something else' is 'hoping' for you to see the common sense in relation to some nonsense Christian beliefs of yours.

If you've got it, great.

You've not answered anything. Straight question, give me a straight answer: do you believe in God?

Did you actually read what I wrote before?

Stop asking me questions in retaliation. Stop attempting this table turning. It's not working. Your faith is in question here, not my belief in God. Stop picking nonsensically and focus on the FACT that some of your Christian beliefs are a load of tripe. Accept it.

I'll do a multiple choice for you. Are you:

A) Atheist
B) Theist
C) Agnostic
D) None of the above?

Why do you need to 'know' God to pray? I don't know the person who fulfills my Amazon orders but I send them off into the ether and they are fulfilled.
