They would have to be left to drown or humanely shot in the water.

You must be off your f,ucking head if you call this "modest".

This post is so disgusting it should be removed by the moderators. Free speech my ****.

There are no easy solutions but how many people live in Europe? Is it around 400 million? They should manage an extra few million for a few years surely.

Could be that a new gung-ho US President would send the boys in and screw Saddam, Russia and IS. But that would just leave a dangerous vacuum but better than current situation.

May be the UN could organise a Cyprus or an Ireland and divide the country into different religious factions and eventually let the returned Syrians decide what they want to do. Is there an empty part of North Africa which could be developed (at considerable cost) into an acceptable place to live?

Poor b,astards.

Well many of our soldiers were trained with proper equipment and supported by a government. And they didn't get beheaded or their wives and kids raped.

More importantly we had something to fight for (and a lesser point, nowhere to run). To the average Syrian life under Assad isn't much better than life under ISIS, so who do you fight for then?

They are NOT refugees, they are economic migrants who have seized their chance.

One of the main refugee relief agencies concerned with Calais and Dunkerque has stopped having anything to do with them, saying they have no need to be there.

Agreed, there's something fundamentally off there in that able men would rather abandon wives/children and run for the hills (or the EU as is more accurate).

Ah...you do know the answer, then?

And last time I looked, "Syrian" wasn't a race.

I was kidding But yeah I wouldn't recommend trying to tell the Scottish they aren't a race (I assume you meant wasn't).

No, last week I referred to the anti-English Scots as racist, and got told they couldn't be, since English isn't a race.

It isn't, it's a nationality.
