Hi,
customer e mailed me with his complaint, I rang him back and requested a copy of the video so I could, if necessary hold a disciplinary meeting with out HR representative and the two clinic guys accused of wrong doing, he refused at first stating it was his property, the conversation went on, me pointing out that I could do nothing on an allegation without being privy to the evidence, eventually he was to seek legal advice and possibly send me the footage Monday, pre my disciplinary, if required, he also stated he would not go on forums until he had given me the chance to resolve this alleged issue.
my reply to his first e mail.......
We take your allegations seriously and have informed our HR team that there is a formal complaint, to back up your complaint we need to see a copy of your in car footage please.
For your records I am very proud of what we do here at scoobyclinic, 30 years of my life’s work so I will not tolerate any bad behaviour from our staff, a meeting with HR is scheduled for 10.30 AM Monday January 18th 2016 where two members of staff face the sack depending on your video evidence.
I formally request you do not use the footage on public domains until this matter is resolved

Within a few minutes of our phone conversation and my E mail reply copied above he started a thread on the MLR, its a forum I don’t frequent but an EVO tuner and friend of ours does, he spotted it and sent me a link, so much for not going on forums until we have had a chance to view the evidence and take action if required.
I then received a back up e mail stating he would not show the video and had been advised to send us a copy, by this time I had read his post and its riddled with lies.
My next E mail to him......
Hi Ben,
I have now seen your posts on forums and the lies they contain.
The bracket in question was missing, not broken, missing completely and had been for a long time, glue had been used in a poor attempt to act as support for the headlight due to the missing bracket, this was pointed out to you as you watched us sort a previous badly done repair.
We asked for £7.00 + VAT to cover the cost of the bracket, no labour charge was made as a gesture of good will.
You claim, amongst other things that we held your car until you contacted the police then we threw your keys at you, complete fabrication as on our CCTV one of our guys hands you the keys, telling you there was no charge to which you thanked him and shook his hand.
Your forum posts are riddled with lies and I suggest you remove them ASAP as Monday morning I am to contact my legal team to deal with this matter.
Regards
Kev
His reply later to my mail is copied below........
Kev,
I withdraw my previous agreement to withhold the video as I feel by questioning the honesty of my statement you have forced my hand in order to prove my innocence.
We'll let the footage do the talking. It's a shame this had to get so messy. An honest apology for the way my vehicle was treated in your care would have sufficed.
I would like to once more remind you under the data protection act all my contact details and personal information should be kept private.
I hereby will not accept any further communication from yourself.
B. Newbery.
Now how do we deal with that ?, he wants an honest apology, didn’t know there were any other types, is there such a thing as a dishonest apology ??
And the last line, "I hereby will not accept any further communication from yourself." Its going to be rather difficult to give a HONEST apology, should one be required, to someone we cannot communicate with !
Every so often we get one like this, the government reckon their statistics department shows there are 2% of the public that you can never please I believe our ex customer is one of them.
As STIg points out he doesn’t name us but drops that many hints he may as well have just come out with it,
These witch hunts remind me of the old horror films where the whole village joins in grouping up with pitchforks and staffs of wood with oil soaked rags wrapped around the top on fire, its always the same names, so called Specialists who are jealous to death of our achievements and longevity in the business, well they can get ready as I have now compiled a file on them, names, addresses, mobile numbers all this info and more will now go to our legal team over the next few days.
Now onwards and upwards, we had a great weekend with both Gymkhana car and our RX car at the autosport show and in some good company they were too.
Thanks for all the M-Soc support and support from other forums and customers alike

I have said it before on other threads, but I'm not sure what sort of person you need to be to have a bad experience there as all the lads are friendly and chatty, even the giant smiles sometimes and the engine builders gave me some valuable tips when I diy rebuilt my Type R engine.
I guess there are just some people in this world that will never be happy no matter what you do for them.

Well you may have guessed from some of my other posts recommending the clinic that I am actually one of the people on here that has used them, I also go way back with Adam, all I've ever experienced there is them bending over backwards to help me out quite a few times and I've not actually spent loads of money with them either, they always sort me out price wise on the labour as others have mentioned, and let me have a good rummage through boxes of old kit looking for an oil pressure gauge last time I was there, who lets you do stuff like that these days.

Last time I was there they solved an issue for me at short notice. No appointment, just rolled up and occupied a technician for most of a day. There was a gentleman there with a lovely P1 who travels 4hrs each way just because he doesn't want to take his car anywhere else. It's that customer attitude alone that tells you the clinic isn't the sort of place to be guilty of abusing customers property.

On the travelling subject, I was there once and there were some blokes from Holland there, even discovered recently when buying oil and filter out here in Croatia my local subaru dealer has been there small world eh!
Oh and your first situation sounds like mine, but I had a dodgy rebuild done and they solved all manner of issues and Pat "the Man" mapped it for me, they had the car for 3/4days and charged me peanuts considering the time they were on the car, sadly even that didn't save the engine in the end and I had to DIY it out in Croatia to get me back to the UK.
But yeah I've had nothing but good experiences from them.
In fact when you consider the number of cars they must work on to keep that many people in a job every month let alone for 30yrs I suppose it's inevitable that someone is not going to be happy sooner or later.

To be fair considering we haven't seen the vid the jury is still out as to what extent the car was driven, so probably better if we all reserve judgment until we get to see what actually went on.
One aspect of the story has already been proven to be a bit of a fabrication regarding the keys being handed over and the loose bumper with a bracket missing and the attempted bodge with old glue on the headlight, so the tale is sounding even more ify to me.

Well, I can say that someone (most likely the OP or a cronie) has registered on M-SOC and with their first post jumped into the thread trying to be clever. M-SOC have quite reasonably said they'd happily host the video and But as yet no response. I think we all know why.

I agree, mountain out of a molehill. (EDIT) In the sense that it shouldn'y have made national press...
Playing devil's advocate - they don't seem to be taking any care to avoid them. Going far quicker than I would be on a road as ****ing rutted as that as well!

Where do you see that Em? Maybe they're going a tad fast but I don't see them aiming for the potholes. And the comment is more tongue in cheek than a statement of intent. Sorry but Tidgy is remarkably right for once. Mountains and molehills
#178
How can you try and defend that? Clearly aiming for potholes, too fast for the state of the road and audio is clear enough to tell it was deliberate! Don't tell me you wouldn't be pissed if that was your car?

Watched the video myself, The guys car has been poorly treated, I would recommend everybody to stay away from scoobyinic if that's the way the treat customers cars.
I was going to buy a new sc42 turbo off them this year, but after seeing that I will buy a turbo elsewhere.
Well done to the owner of the car for posting the video with a newspaper.
