Looks like one of our traders does not take care of our cars when test driving!

Yeah I kinda mean those that were a forklift driver/tattooist/ASDA shelf stacker etc one minute and before you know it, boom! They're a breaker or a specialist 😂 we can all name one or two of those types... No business insurance no breakers licence no procedures in place for disposal of fluids harmful to the environment, hoists erected by a mate for £20 that lean further than the famous tower (and no safety certificates), trading in cash to avoid the tax-man.... That sort of thing....

Got to say that bit doesn't add up for me, let's think about it, you have dodgy brakes so the plan to get them fixed involves a 3 hour drive
And then when you're 200 quid and a tank of fuel lighter solve the problem yourself the next day.
Does sound rather strange, glad to see it's not just me.

I read on that post, he went there because he couldn't get booked in anywhere else at sort notice, but sc had space to book him in and they were a subaru specialist so he went.
From what i read also, it wasnt that his brakes wasnt working, just he had a lot of pedal travel after replacing master cylinder etc with no improvement so thought sc would sort it.
(Thats just as i read it)

Lol the one that didn't happen you mean? Let's be serious here, there's a farm next door with livestock. Signs telling you to keep your speed down. It's deathly silent up there and you can hear cars half a mile away let alone on the drive being ragged to f*%k! So how come he never mentioned it until after he had driven down the road? And how come those that have seen it say there's no audio and it shows no speed greater than anyone going up the track?

I can't think of a better basis than reputation on which to base the decision of which garage to use. When people recommend someone/somewhere, eg. use Pat Herborn for mapping (as I did last week!), nobody ever questions whether they've actually had their car mapped by him. Reputation is everything, especially in the service sector, and as has already been said, often there's no smoke without fire. I've never read a bad word about Enginetuner, Surrey Subaru, Zen, or Carnetix, to name just a few. But I have, on more than one occasion, read negative reviews of Scooby Clinic. Just because somebody hasn't experienced something themselves, doesn't mean there's no substance in things they've heard or read.
Personally, I think the vast majority of businesses are unscrupulous and offer poor service. Social media and forums are great platforms, as they expose those businesses and keep others on their toes. Why should people be gagged for criticising a business? Person A has a nightmare at company X. Person B has a great experience at company X. They both share their experiences on a forum. Often, person B will abuse person A for saying they had a 'mare. But person A never abuses person B for writing complimentary things, even if they don't share those sentiments. Businesses gain thousands in revenue from positive word-of-mouth. They have to be prepared to take the rough with the smooth... if, of course, the rough is true.
Oh, and from what I've heard, Syria, Iraq, and North Korea aren't the best places to go for a holiday. However, I've never been to any of these countries, so does that mean the rumours are fiction? Maybe I should go and risk getting beheaded just so I can say the rumours are true because I went to see for myself.
It's possible, but anybody can make up horror stories about any business. In reality, it rarely happens. RCM are very successful, aren't they? But I can't remember ever reading bad press about them.
I once drove for about three hours to get my suspension sorted!
Look, I don't know who to believe - hopefully this will all be concluded tomorrow - but I wouldn't say this is a hole in his story. Why would the OP claim he drove from Essex if he didn't? He could just say he travelled from Yorks/Notts/Derbyshire.

He did drive from Essex. That part is true. I'm not saying he claimed to have driven from anywhere. My mistake of it read that way.
As for reputation again I think you misunderstand what I'm getting at. For example, there's a guy on a Subaru Group near me. Never been to the clinic, not one of the sharpest tools in the box and doesn't really know his arris from his elbow. Yet he is all over this post. But the only basis he has for not liking the clinic is because an aforementioned garden shed/facebook tuner with a reputation for destroying customers cars doesn't like them. And the only reason said facebook specialist doesn't like them is because they refused him credit for a turbo. He tells everyone the same story about how the clinic blew his engine on the Dyno but what he neglects to mention is the clinic advised him not to run it but he knew better. "What we gonna do today? Let's go hate the clinic. Why we gonna hate the clinic? Nobody knows but everyone's doing it lets just join in. What if we don't wanna hate the clinic? Oh you're not talking to me now?" That's pretty much how it is. I'm not being funny but if you have good grounds for not liking a coffee shop i.e overcharged you for a coffee with extra milk, gave you a dirty teaspoon just go to a different shop. Me personally, I'd rather a dirty spoon than take my business to a greasy cafe and end up with rat droppings on my carrot cake.

I would even class Roberham scoobies as either a tuner or specialist,he is just a clown.
Any business run solely from Facebook is a joke.
The fact he peddles most of his car ruining on the other joke of a club sioc says it all.
You are told what to think or get banned.
So if anyone has an opinion of the clinic other than that held by Roberham or cnuton. They would be banned.

There is a video. It was posted briefly and removed. But from more than one persons account of it it didn't show anything untoward. Maybe quicker than Jonathon would have driven miss daisy but not as fast as I would probably go up there and certainly not as fast as the OP States and definitely not aiming for potholes. You should read the M-SOC thread for more detail. Including the emails from the OP and their response...

Ben, John, whoever you are. You are from this moment causing Scooby clinic a potential loss of earnings.
I need my car serviced and they were on my list of phone calls tomorrow. (And I will travel, scoobyworld in Leicester done my last one)
Get the video up so I can decide whether or not they deserve my hard earned money! You've made a compelling story up until now which id love to believe, but I'm now torn between both sides.

Thanks mate. I hadn't until these post heard a bad word about them, and have certainly admired their cars & clients cars.... But if it does turn out to be true I really can't afford any mishaps be it damages or time.

Fair play but literally nothing to worry about, they are a great friendly bunch and will literally chat with you whilst doing the work

I'd suggest you go and read the clinics version of events, including Kev's emails and requests for the video and the OP's response. Even more compelling reading. While you're there you might want to have a look at all the posts from the many happy customers they have 😁

After reading the Msoc thread it does appear Kevin the owner has handled it very well indeed.
Surely if the video was showing what the op says it does he would have shown it by now and backed up his story.

Tony Hough AKA Huffy AKA Rob'emall Scoobies
The self taught mechanic that classes himself as a specialist
He bought a car from Wales and towed it back to Rotherham with a straight bar, then complained that the seller had sold it with a knackered diff nowt to do with towing it for 200+ miles
When his wife was dying of cancer he couldn't wait for her to die! He slagged her off saying she had changed since she got cancer and he didn't like her!
