Looks like one of our traders does not take care of our cars when test driving!

Hey up Ditchy, hope you're well.
The long and short is the two employees in the car have ruined Scoobyclinic's credibility. With Kev's response above any shred of integrity has gone (I don't give two hoots about legal ramifications), take responsibility say you've slipped up and sort the issue. I'm neither a hater nor do I have an axe to grind but I'm a believer in good old fashioned taking responsibility. A business which operates with such derision towards paying customers deserves to go to the wall. Good riddance.

I'm old school too and believe in putting my hands up when I get it wrong, I would think from the small amount of time I have spent around Kev that he's not too descimilar either, but in this instance he has more than himself to think about, he has somewhere between 10 and 15 staff and their families to consider, also bear in mind it was a member of staff not himself that committed the offending act, so not so much the business but the individual in this instance, one that has been dealt with accordingly.
I think it's unfair and rather uncharitable to the other members of staff and their families to suggest they deserve to go to the wall.

Yes that doesn't excuse what you see in the video (and some of Kev's comments) but the way the owner proceeded isn't much better.

What about the cars owner? I personally feel he lost all integrity when he went running off to the Daily Mail to sell his story (especially if there's any truth in that it's the first place Kev saw that video).

Seen he said there's more than meets the eye with it all....
Maybe Ben has been working with Derren Brown to stage this whole situation.. Brainwashed the mechanics!

From what I have seen, Kev's attitude towards this customer was bad, and he threatened legal action and called him names on a forum, not the right way to go about things in my book
As I have said a few times, this could have all been sorted out privately offline, but no it went all public because the owner called someones bluff and tried to threaten him and called him names
and even now he won't admit his company has done wrong

Admittedly I wouldn't be pleased if it was my car, but nobody died and the person responsible has been sent DRM (down the road mumbling ) which I think is more than enough of a punishment for a long standing employee and shows that the situation has indeed been taken seriously.
But then, why would you sack someone if you don't think they've done anything wrong? Had he not resigned, it doesn't sound like anything would have been done. To do so would have been an admission of guilt which is a road Kev has clearly decided not to go down.
As one of their customers, I'm disappointed in all honesty. This was a chance to go someway to putting things right.

I am amazed someone has said the video distorts the perception of the lane
Someone on FB said the following
To be fair amount of backlash on sc is mad I would say it's unfair. U have to think and ask the question, who on earth would drive from Essex to SC just to do a brake bleed I'm sorry but there are reputable garages in Essex that could have done the job?! More to that why would somebody drive down there with dodgy brakes? U have to look at it objectively what if the guy who owns a scooby was a tool and had history with sc and just wanted to get some money out of it....? Conveniently place was riddled with potholes and camera was left on... I don't know I wouldn't be rushed to conclusions so quicly
and Clinics response was this
Thank you at last someone is looking at this objectively,
So now the Clinic think this guy did it deliberatley?
They really should take responsibility for their actions

I think that not sacking the guy is a big failure on SC's part here and I've certainly no axe to grind with them. He should have been sacked so that he can't just walk into a job elsewhere, saying "after 15 years I just felt like I needed a change....".

Maybe the owner thinks that if he/ScoobyClinic admitted guilt then he, lets just say this as an example, could have to pay Ben £10k for repair costs and compensation (£10k just an example) which he thinks he can get out of not paying by not admitting guilt. But in doing so he is shooting himself in the foot as he's throwing away all his customers within the car community which will no doubt be worth more than £10k.
If he had admitted guilt with his hands up, he could claw back the car communities respect and possibly keep a lot of customers.
Is he forgetting that customers effectively make his business? No customers, no money.... He must be a pretty smart guy to be running a business for 20 odd years successfully, I just really can't see how he can be so stupid all of a sudden and how ANYONE with a bit of common sense and screw up this situation so badly. He's literally done everything wrong regarding this saga.

A sorry - a free labour only incentive for a service or something (not that he would have come up for it anyway from Essex) and job done..!
As mentioned problems / accidents happen, Its how you deal with them that shows how good a person/company you really are.
Oh and that response...! p1ss take to say the least. Better off with no response if thats all they could come up with.

From what I hear there seems to be a certain segment of the FB community that have it in for SC and as the last time I was there they said most of their business now comes via fB I get the feeling that's what they are responding to.
I don't do FB or any of the groups on there as the only time I joined to have a look it was tubbys group and there were more retards and knuckle draggers than I thought existed in this world, which has since been confirmed several times over via the various things I have seen posted about such groups on here.

Sad really.
