Bugger, nice to see you have a positive attitude in spite of the situation.

I would still have it stripped down to determine the cause of the failure other wise the same thing may happen to the next one, just in case it turns out to be fuel pump or some other ancillary that is still on the car.

Onwards and upwards.

Engine will be split when I decide what I'm doing by me or Andy. Don't want to split it now due to small garage and don't want to loose bits etc. Determine what the problem was then

Gutting for you mate.. My SC42 let go last week, it was a year old, turbine paddles gone as the previous owner left the lamda in the up pipe, als melted it/shot it up to the turbo.. I fitted a blank in the hole, and its eventually caused the turbo to start passing oil. I just bought my impreza in September, 'finished', already spent 2 grand on the old girl. In no where near as deep as you, so only can imagine you must be gutted..

Owen developments have the turbo at the mo, replacing the shaft/turbine, metal cage bearings and updated heatshield and zircotec on the exhaust side..

May be a bit of a strange option, have you thought of getting a standard engine from matt baker and running with the power you have? My friend Rupert has just bolted on the same turbo as myself, with a standard ej207.. Only 20 bhp less than my 2.1 and he's running 0.2 bar less..

I thought about doing a rotated 30/71, similar to the sc42.. Just couldnt justify it as the next ring trip is in Easter, I'm just itching to use it. Cost is hooge as well before selling the old bits..

Hope you figure it out mate, it looks brilliant under the bonnet

Have thought about it yeah, but all the track days and ring and spa trips I'm planning I want something I can thrash and not worry about also

My plan for next year was rotated EFR turbo of about 600bhp so may as well do it if I can now

Good thing about my car is the engine bay is so stripped and bare can get the engine out in a hour easy. Just finding one now or having one built that's going to take the time! 😕

Nice and clean engine bay there pal!

Couple here of my framed front end, not 100% finished yet but I cut everything away! The frame holds and supports everything now and saves loads of weight but is still strong

Rite lads bit of a update, I've found a ready built 2.35 engine built by Paul finch that's only done 2k.. 1k was running in.. bit more than I can afford but we shall see over the next week.. but I need a new clutch along which is looking at around the £700 mark.. so not much point putting a engine in until I get this sorted as well

Hopefully you get it sorted soon.

I feel your pain. I had mine booked in for the bodywork to be done on my subaru and now it's looking like the engine has let go. I'm not sure whether to cut my losses and look for another subaru, or bite the bullet and get it rebuilt.
