its your car bud do what you like, you dont need approval from anyone on here. your not the first to put sti bits on a wrx and you wont be the last. just get on and enjoy the car and making it your own. just dont put subaru rally graphics on it or a shopping list on the side for gods sake.

The intercooler is bigger and better. A legitimate mod with the right supporting parts regardless of what is painted on it!

I would say the complete opposite to this guy.
Buy a spoiler scoop and skirts and winglets. Then your 3 grand car suddenly looks very much a 6 grand sti.
If the gearbox and 4 pots are in good Nick they will be fine. The other difference (the vf turbo) is a personal choice and can be added for 350 but your better off looking for a cheap full decat then remap for sti performance straight out the box 😊
Happy new year!!

By the time you've added all that to a WRX, it will have cost way more than an STi but will have turned a £3k car into maybe a £4K car!
If you are of the mind to mod a WRX beyond the capabilities of the 5 speed then it's a false economy to buy a WRX!

It's your car do as you please... If you want to spend thousands on it changing all the parts for sti then do it... You don't need anyone's approval to do what you want with your hard earned

Shame because all the blown 5 speed wrx's on ebay give it a bad name but I'm sure 90% is down too poor maintance and driver error.
Change your trans fluid. Let the gearbox warm up before fast/hard shifts and it will take 280 all day long

I agree about no sti badges though.
I think the three sti badges plastered over the front of newages looks naff anyway.
One is more then enough!

I wanted a WRX, I bought a WRX. I've just spent £15k from one of my saving accounts on a garage and block paving my front garden. It's practical and it's added more value to my house than it cost me to do.
I've never said it's the best car ever, it's 330bhp and is fast enough for me. If I wanted a 'better' car, it would be a JDM or possibly Litchfield (and 'yes' I could buy one tomorrow if I wanted to)

My WRX is an auto, a JDM import, no STi autos ever made it to these shores.
I have many STi parts and panels on my WRX, no exterior STi badging though. My interior is the black and blue, and it's closer to royal blue not baby blue as south_scoob seems to claim. I have STi components so having STi stitched my front seat is not going cause me lost sleep.

Like has been said " your car, your choice "
If you want to make your car look like something it's not then there is no shame in that, just head over to sioc for some inspiration.
Hell we only live in a 2 bedroom house but have stuck a few false windows on the outside so people walking past think we have a 4 bedroom,no shame honest

Ironic thing is the coolest STI on SN is debadged, descooped and despoilered. It looks like a 729bhp NA!
You could stick a Pagani badge on the STI and it wouldn't get criticised, people would presume an epic engine swap.

My 2nd Impreza was a 2004 blobeye WRX back in 2005 I was 22 years old so insurance was a problem on a STi so I had to settle for a WRX. The car had 4k miles on the clock and the first day I had it I drilled into the bumper to fit the STi bumper winglits and fitted some STi fog covers!!!
Problem is with the WRX i spent probably the best part of £10k on modifying the car, and the end product was a WRX that looked like a STi and was probably as quick as a mapped STi, most the parts where off a STi blob anyway, but the engine and gearbox where not as strong as a STi!!
When I sold it, was running 315bhp, and every bolt on STi part
If I had to do it all again, I would not have bothered, from experience I should have held out for a year and waited for a STi.

TBH I'm not interested in slamming on for every corner on potholed UK roads, all that matters to me is wiping the floor with all and sundry at the lights/drag lights and the STI isn't the car for that.
The reason I have STI parts on my WRX is that they are cheaper options to aftermarket parts. The TD05 cost me £70, STI injectors £80 and STI top mount £150. I don't need the 6 speed gearbox as it will slow me down considerably and drastically lower my mpg/whp. Trust me, despite what STI owners claim, a WRX on the 350lbft box limit will not need more power! I have a safe-ish 300lbft and my WRX is pushing 3 second 0-60's.
Looks wise I concede the STI is sexy as hell and I've all but the Sti winglets on my car, I won't badge it as an STI as in my option the WRX is a slightly better road car and the wider public can't tell a WRX from an STI. It's just so STI drivers behind me know a poverty spec left them like they were parked.

I often think how cool it would be to have a 60k 750bhp supercar killing Subaru but then realise I'd still look cheap driving it into Casino Square.

How come Matt's WRX has 300lb/ft of torque and does 0-60 in 3 seconds, and when I had 300lb/ft of torque in my blob WRX(same model car) I struggled to keep up with a E60 BMW 545i?? and would struggle to get to under 5 seconds 0-60mph!!
Think it must be pure fantasy on his behalf!! I really hope your going to Santa Pod this year to see if you can get anywhere near the time you where getting on the track near you!!
