Please stay away from our club
do you think that is the prevailing view of United fans

from what I hear (anecdotally ) he still commanded the support of the supporters

they seem to blame the players

I agree all of the Chelsea supporters I know think that way.

United is not a two season project, I believe Jose would cause more damage than good.

Personally I don't want a quick fix, plus the guy never gives youth a chance, no doubting he has talent but he's not a united man IMHO.

Maybe United fans under the age of 35 would welcome him with open arms, butI believe the large majority of those north of that age would have their reservations.

We have such a poor squad, we need long term, stable, structured management with an end goal, I'd go another 4 or 5 years without a trophy, we went long enough before the Fergie era
If I knew we were building and improving for the future with a totally organised youth system that would hopefully save us from having to panic buy big names in every transfer window I'd be happy (don't know about the owners though)

Who would you appoint as the next MUFC manager

would you go for a big name, big ego or someone who has something to prove and wants to be the best - for me I'd take the 2nd option

How about
Martin O'Neill and Keano
Gordon Strachan and Giggs
Gary Neville
or do we try for Pep, Gus H, Simeone, Hose A, the usual suspects

Interestingly I was at a drinks party tonight with a very old friend (and fellow gooner) who knows far more about football than I do

And he said

Jose's career follows a pattern - never at a club more than 3 years

The third year gets the sack - Chelsea (2 stints ) Real Madrid - and (I think) another Italian team

All good first year, great second year, sack third year

He has only been sacked by two clubs.....Real Madrid, where everyone gets the sack unless they win the treble every year and Chelsea, he left Porto and Inter after winning the champions league with both clubs.
After Chelsea's win yesterday it was pretty evident that he did loose the dressing room and it doesn't matter who you are, if that happens you're a dead man walking and its just a matter of time before you are forced to pack your bags and head for pastures new.

Anyone who doubts Mourniho's credentials as a top manger needs to look at what he has won in the game, he's made for Utd IMO and currently the only manager who could get them back to winning pots!

I don't doubt his credentials over the short time

It is a the longer term, especially if you compare him to Fergie where he seems unproven

Arsene, well trophy wise not in the same league as Man U - but i do go to the Emirates and the football is generally good - and has been for quite a long time

And the club has pretty solid financials

Jose - always has the look of someone who will always "crash and burn"

^^^
I don't want Pep, he was just another name in a list of potential managers the club may appoint

My preference is for stability and a long term fix not a JM, Pep or Hiddink
but to look to the future 5 years - 10 yrs try and build another dynasty like SAF had time to do
The problem is the owners and shareholders, they can't see the big picture they just want to hear the 'Tills ringing' big business not 'love'
We have lost everything that Fergie built, We need to start again - look at Liverpool, 20 years give or take in the wilderness as far as the league goes anyway, with no imminent prospect of being anything other than a top 8 team

I'm old enough to have supported United from the late 60's through good, bad, worse, bad, Immense and unstoppable and now sliding again
Some people know nothing more than Utd being a winning team, it hasn't always been this way, we cannot win all the time the bad times will come and go, we have to make sure when we come out of the gloom, we are stronger, structured, our youth policy is second to none and we are winning again

yes, agree elgassi

that's is why I don't quite understand the Wenger haters (hater too strong a word, but you get my drift) amongst the Arsenal fans

in my view, whilst not got the silverware of Fergie, still an outstanding manager and has built several teams and given the club stability over the last 20 odd years

as you say success is not a right - it has to be earn't

I'm afraid stability is a thing of the past. What Fergie and Wenger achieved in terms of time at the helm will never happen again due to the instant success mindset clubs now have which is brought on by fans and shareholders.

I would hazard a guess that just about every team / honest supporter would have loved Wenger's record and success at their club, the only thing missing is the CL trophy
We were just Oh so lucky we had SAF and a better team lol

The problem pundits say is that very very few managers build from the youth

fergie was pretty good at that, and arsene too

Jose/Chelsea did not seem to be

And when you buy in "success / talent" I would argue you are always more likely to player power

Leading to the scenes we've seen at chelsea
No not a Utd fan (far from it, I support a sh1tty championship side near the bottom of the league)

But I do like Jose Mourinho, I think he brings something to our game, he is a winner where ever he has been, and Im sorry but looking from the outside I think Manchester United need a manager like him!!

Utd have been dumped out the Champions League and are 5th in a very poor Premier League this year, And its only a matter of time the board will pull the trigger on LVG and I see this happening in days/weeks. as losing to Norwich at Old Trafford is only the start of the problems for Utd if LVG stays in charge.

As for Utd fans wanting Ryan Giggs as the next manager, you really need to wake up, do you really want someone with limited knowledge/experience of being a top manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world, plus if he could motivate the players, we haven't seen him do it while being number 2 to David Moyes or LVG. I think you would be making a big mistake appointing him as 1st team manager!!!

Get Jose in, and he will win you the league next year, and maybe we will see the great Manchester United who used to dominate/win every competition they where in.

Giggs was immense as a player, I don't know many utd supporters who want him as the next manager, it just won't happen unless he's interim until the end of the season and ends up winning the league (dreaming now)
I don't want Jose anywhere near OT, he's a bad fit for us, we need rebuilding, we don't need to feed his ego

Ive heard Utd fans saying that they should have a 10 year plan etc, but who can you honestly appoint in the world of football and think to yourself they will still be there in 10 years time, it just wont happen anymore, they could win everything the one year and then be at the bottom the second year and be sacked like the same as just happened to Jose Mourinho, dont think Utd are any different to Chelsea because there not, the only reason you dont have a record of sacking managers like Chelsea is Alex Ferguson and like Wenger was last of the old school managers who had been there for 10+years!!!

Real supporters know football isn't a quick fix, it takes time
the way footballs going, TV, corporate, foreign owners it won't matter what the real supporters want so long as the bean counters are making money

Possibly we are the last of the one club supporters who follow their team whatever, in the future people may just support who ever is winning

Shame as its going to get worse with more and more money in the game, as a supporter paying your ticket into the stadium is probably not even 1% of there income for the year and you already hear that a lot of the top games there are a lot of tourists from other countries watching the games and killing the atmosphere, and would probably stump up £100-200 a ticket to watch Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Arsenal.

Being a Wolves fan that dont sound to bad I forgot what its like to win more then 2 games in a row!!!

yep, the push for Giggs has all the hallmarks of the Shearer / Newcastle episode

I suppose simple "passion" is never going to be enough

you can't blame some supporters wanting Giggs (unbelievable player) but I suspect he needs more experience

yes - I see this at the Emirates, sometimes it feels like sitting at a west-end show with so many Japanese and new faces every game !!!!! :-0

the rumours are getting stronger
Ryan Giggs needs look at himself as well, either go and coach the youth teams or go to Swansea
He's failed to inspire the team under Moyes, as interim and under LVG
