Yeh it's pretty much where mine is detecting knock,so around spool and when the car really starts to pick up at 1bar,,I've heard of shift knock so I was thinking that ESL may think it's hearing knock when the turbo is really kicking in? Atm my knock control map is -0.75 In the same area and I'm not hearing det.
At the end of the day,if you can't hear knock via det cans then it's not happening
So I would be confident in switching knock control off in that area.
As you know retarding the timing when you don't need to is going to hold back power when you don't need to.

I was hoping to attend the ESL course next month so I could ask some questions and learn more about how ESL but I'm working on that day
But for sure I will attend a future course

Cheers for the input bud, ive stuck at the 1 degree of retarded timing in the advance map across some of the area and also in the base map, would rather be safe than sorry i guess

will monitor the knock control, but its hard to drive the car as needed to get results as i dont like my fuel gauge going down as quickly as the temp rises ha
