Samsung had 92 reports of the Note7 batts blowing up in the US. The whole thing was blown (no pun intended) out of proportion. A bit like the iPhold debacle last year

You think Samsung recalled millions of phones losing billions from their share price because of an internet hyped problem, OK.
No of course not, i was being sarcastic, what i was saying is Samsung reported 92 issues in the US, which of course is a complete lie versus reality. As was the same case with the iPhold debacle. They are all as bad as each other when it comes to honesty.
The whole note7 batt issue is all Apple's fault anyway, they made Samsung rush the launch of the n7

I'm in Hong Kong right now, the advertising for the N7 is another level, seriously everywhere you look, marketing dept's **** must be boiling.
"In light of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery crisis, the need to find solutions to keep batteries from overheating and expanding, if not exploding, Apple has been working on these issues to find better solutions. In August we posted a report covering Apple's new Dendrite-Resistant battery design. With the iPhone 8 Plus providing an even larger display next year, a new battery design will assist in keeping our devices safer while providing us with more power. Exactly what the doctor ordered."
It's quite a saving and I'm working in Central but if I buy anything it'll be a DJI Mavic drone.
You should try main land HK for electrionics and photograpic stuff in Tsim Sha Tsui and along Nathan Road and further up in Mong Kok. But the real bargains are off Nathan road and in the side streets. Don't be afraid to haggle, even in big stores!!

Fanboys are idiots...who else would drill a 3.5mm hole into a new phone costing over £600.
just because Apple iPhones are among the most expensive you can buy does not necessarily mean they are the best, indeed you can pick up any number of much cheaper smartphones (not just Samsung) which will have fast charge, much better displays and more memory for a fration of the cost.
But Fanboys are brain washed into believing they own the best. The S7 Edge is a great phone but so too are others, like the new HTC 10 and the new Acer zenfone 3 deluxe.
Apple needs to reinvent the iPhone (and boost sales) because right now its about as exciting as listening to Jack rant on here about Apple.
I have had more than a few people at work admire my S7 Edge, and they own iPhone 6s....

Apple finally catching up with the rest of the world in 2017 with displays. If they have fast charge and/or wireless charge that would be quite a coup.
hallelujah....
Apple's latest flagship smartphones – the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – were released after months of hype. It was reported that the devices might bail out the Cupertino giant from poor sales of iPhones in the last few quarters, but it appears to be a case of false hopes, with its sales said to be lower than its predecessor's.
German research firm GfK has claimed in a report that the sale over the launch weekend of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is 25 percent lower year-over-year, according to PhoneArena.
Jack, you should get a flight to cupertino and help revive the iPhone, even with a epic PR screw up from Samsung, Apple still lagging behind.
