Think it probably is @boosted but I'm sure you can get this 3D view up on ESL,from what I read in the manual, you have to make sure that both perameters are selected in logging and have the logging on,I've tried it a few different ways but still can't get this view up?

With megasquirt you can adjust the 3d maps whilst moving the cursor crosshairs over the desired area then pressing shift you can arrow up and down to increase/decrease timing/boost/fuel/accel enrich/warm up enrich etc. very user freindly indeed.

99/00 is up and running mafless but we don't have the twin maps finished, and the cables are prototype.

I will cover different fuels in twin maps.

Cheers.

Unfortunately for me and work commitments I won't be attending this one.
I'm a definite for the future as I'm sure there will be many more to come.
It's great software to use and a perfect upgrade with plenty of bells and whistles
Offering a course is a great opportunity to learn more.

If this is going to be a future option when buying ESL I'm sure there will be many more courses to come, even more so now it looks like the 99/00 version might be out soon.

Have a great time lads, let us all know how it goes.

I wish you well Andy and hope to see you in the near future.

Hi Wayne, probably aim for 9am-6pm, but I'll be setting up from 7 as alot of lads are into Stansted from Ireland at 6am. The Hallmark is where its at, the Ramada one junction away is cheaper. If you are on facebook it's worth joining the group for updates. You can book on now at the website shop.

Just to update SN on this, Piehole1983 and I flew in from NI to attend this yesterday.
Spent the day getting a thorough rundown of the ESL software and how to make best use of it. The course was well structured , packed with info , and full of very interesting Q&A sessions. Personally I found it invaluable and would def recommend it to anyone with an interest in dabbling with DIY.
It's pretty incredible to hear the story of how these guys reverse engineered the OEM code to get to where they are today and to actually meet them was pretty cool.
Big thanks to Andy , Spencer , Dom and Gavin on all the effort put in to deliver what was genuinely a thoroughly interesting and informative day!

Quick question for the guys that were on the course, how transferable do you think what you've learnt would be to other mapping applications? I'm quite interested in doing something like this but having a newage car limits the application for the ESL specific stuff.

Cheers

I think you would gain a general appreciation, but as ESL is used as the example system and is live mappable and the OEM options for newage cars are not, the actual mapping process would be more labourious for your application.

We may extend/run another course for opensource mapping of the flashable OEM ECU in time.

sbn1979 - no you have to use the specific ESL mapping cable for your ECU type. Openports are for newage cars.

Ok thanks for the reply, so essentially you would need to buy either the SSM or OBD lead dependant on the year

V3 still has pre facelift dash and can have OBD or SSM it seems, I believe V4 can also have SSM or OBD. In my case (97 UK Turbo) I have the pre facelift dash and SSM. You'll need to have a look at your own to be sure what you've got.

The SSM port is normally taped up out of the way under the steering column, slightly to the left if you're sitting in the car. It's near the green and black diagnostic connectors.

You can buy SSM to OBD converters cheaply enough tho, about £4 if you need to go SSM - OBD
